Is your 6 a daily driver?
DD every day summer & winter except when the snow flies or the temps. dip below -15; it gets pretty stiff at those temps. 110 miles round trip. It's no fun if you're not driving it
!
Well, it looks like a lot of you have them as DDs. I'm surprised at how many! I must have guessed backwards on the percentage in my OP. Let's keep it polling......
Not a DD. My Stratus gets better mileage for the comute. But, do miss it and therefore the bride and I love it on the weekends and holidays. Problem now is it is too hot out here to put the top down, without burning the head.
As the say, it's rough getting a little older.
I try not to drive the SRT more than 2-3 times per week, and at least one of those is to pick up groceries. I use an 01 Suzuki SV650 motorcycle as much as possible to commute to work. Saves gas and tread on those gold-digger rear tires. Here close to the Mexican border, the dust, potholes, cattle trucks, and summertime sprinklers make me wary every time I drive her..speaking of sprinklers, I have hard water spots all over the car from the sprinklers here at my apt complex. Any tips for removing them would be much appreciated!
Daily 50 mile round-trip commuter! I put it away during Summer Vacation, etc. and if there's salt on the ground. 93K miles. I'll be taking it to Asheville this weekend just for fun!
Mine is lately. The truck has no AC and since I complained about driving aroadster with the top up in the summertime, I don't want to get caught in mine. So I cheat and take Crumpy's 6 to work.
13 miles each way and lots of fun blowing off wannabie stangs and ricers.
Gonna be tough going back to the "wimpy" NA. But, I do miss rowing the gears.

Mine is my DD. 50 mile commute. My poor car gets so beat up on these rough roads. Door dings start to add up. They don't stay so garage fresh when you drive them everyday. I even had a rock bounce out of a dump truck and dent my hood! WTF? I am at the point where I don't have to fret about the car all the time and just enjoy it though.
Yup, wear and tear is a b***h. I needed a new windshield after six months, and that one got three chips in the first two weeks after installation. I know I'm looking at an eventual repaint from all the road rash, but hey, who else gets to drive an SRT6 40,000 miles a year? Woohoo!
I have a Shadow Gray Ford Five Hundred Limited AWD that gets 29 mpg highway. I love this car too. Actually, it's so big that it's refreshing to drive sometimes after a long trip in the roadster. If I had a coupe, things may be different.
Trying to add something meaningfull to this thread...
1. 2005 Ford Five Hundred Limited with CVT-darn good car for the money. Really!
2. When I do drive the SRT, it feels that much better and I appreciate it that much more.
I know I'm lucky. We'll see how long I can afford insurance on 3 vehicles. Question is, which goes if not.

Wear and Tear IS a bit(h!
What do you think of repainting the front bumper? I am highly considering this as DD'ing the car has beat the crap out of my front!

It's my DD, but I live 2 miles from my job. At night / on the weekends we take the wifey's 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited anywhere... that car is so nice it's absurd (slow as hell though)
I have 18k miles on the car now, when I sell it next year I'm not planning on it being over 20k

The answer is no but yes. it was never intended to be my DD but I just can't stay out of my coupe. Even when I have a good reason to drive the truck on business trips ,and I usually spend a few days convincing my self I need to drive the truck, at the last minute I use the gas milage thing to rationalize driving the SRT.
As soon as I hit the open road and that big grin comes on my face all is good. If you are going to drive for 6 or 8 hrs it might as well be fun.

I've experienced some of the same stoning problems as Albert and Mopar have reported, along with a cracked front fog lamp lens. Fortunately no door dents or keyings.
It was a rough spring with road construction. Picked up two stone chips on the windshield and cracked my driver side fog light then. Already I am planning for a front end repaint next spring.
What's a good way to keep the side bolster on the driver's seat from getting scratched up from getting in and out of the car?
My 6 is my daily driver from April - early Nov unless I need cargo space. For the winter months, the Xfire will live in a heated garage. I have a 33.5 - 42.0 mile commute that translates to about 15,000 miles per year. My sports cars absorb about 10,000 of that and my suburban family trucksters get the remaining 5,000 plus vacations and weekend chores. My wife drives an 08 G35x daily and we have an 06 Volvo XC90 and an 06 Pacifica Limited (another Daimler/Chrysler collaboration) for deep snow and ski trips.
The SRT6 like the S2000 before it makes my daily commute bearable. It's why I buy small two seat sports cars. It's virtually always just me in the car and I often choose to avoid highways that are clogged with trucks and SUV's in favor of back roads with one lane bridges. I find it keeps my blood pressure down and makes life a lot more enjoyable.
