Magnaflow SRT6
After reviewing some old posts, and looking at the link provided by John, I'm a bit confused. Magnaflow is advertising a "Catback System". It should be just that; from the Cat's back, right? Not just a muffler. They are also stating gains in both HP and Torque. I guess we'll see when Rob gets one, whether it's a one piece or a 3 piece? $700?? If it drones, it's worth $0.

The Limited system is a proper cat-back, with a flange connector and everything. And as expected, it's cheaper (bigger market, more widgets)
I am astonished, however, that they basically cloned the preexisting design for the Limited, chopped off some material, and charged more. If this was a radical redesign, sure -- but they essentially used the same jig, with larger piping.
For $350, I'd consider it. For $700, I'll buy my own muffler and pay someone to design a mean set of tips.

I guess this confirms that Magnaflow is guilty of false advertising. It's a muffler, not a CatBack"system". They even point out that it clamps up behind our OEM "mid muffler".

I had a local exhaust shop do a custom duel cat-back (primary cats, secondaries removed) with 2 resonators & 2 mufflers for less than $500...parts and labor!
I think $700 is too much for this.

id bet they did it in aluminized steel and press bent for that price. im not condoning magnaflows price on the system, but at least i assume it is in a decent quality stainless, we will find out in a few weeks.
O.K., I need to recant my statement that it is just a muffler. I guess they get away with calling it a "system" because it has a merge pipe, (2)mufflers, and tips included. BUT, for $700.+, it better have an incredibly sexy tone, and add a pony or two if they expect to actually sell any. I look forward to hearing this hooked up to the end of a NW's downpipe "system".

And you don't have to install it yourself or pay extra for somebody else to do it. Honestly though from my experience Magnaflow is typically of better fitment/quality than most exhaust shops and also lighter.
Stainless Steel pipes with Ansa mufflers (I brought in) It took him about 1½ hours.
Full disclosure: The shop owner broke his foot the morning of the appointment, so I had to reschedule. I would imagine he gave me a bit of a deal because of it. But still...

LMAO I didn't realize that this system isn't a catback - what a ripoff! Also the proper term for their system is an axleback
. I'm definitely going to go with a stainless steel mandrel bent exhaust, there is a local shop here in MD that does fantastic work. PM me for details if you're local and interested.
