The car came with 3/36 bumper to bumper---7/70 limited powertrain (this DOES NOT included the computer---just engine, trans, rear end)---and 8/100 for Fed Emissions---Plus something for rust protection too (not sure of the time). Many think that since a computer is NEEDED to run the powertrain that it would be included, but NO---it's not nor are the other electrical sensors needed to get and keep the car running---not the radiator either and you need one of them too!!!

ok something is not right.I just got off the phone with Chrysler customer service I gave them the Vin and they told me the car does not have 7/70 it only had 3/36.I have the original title in front of me the car was not sold until 7/07 how is it possible that this car did not have the 7/70 limited powertrain warranty.I asked the person at chrysler and she told me thats something I would have to take up with a dealership.

This cars changed so much so fast---08's came with lifetime, maybe the SRT had something different too---would not surprise me---also, so cars were "sold" to the dealers so the in service date could start and were sold as used with less than 100 miles on them---this happened a lot with the 2008's.---EDIT---Just looked it up---3/36 ONLY---7/70 on Limited's ( I did not know that they did not offer the 7/70 on the SRT)---I guess they did not want to chance the AMG parts under a longer warranty. FYI---I bought a Chrysler Factory Plan---5yr/ 70k from PURCHASE---for $2035 with $200 deductible. Comes out to 2.9 cents per mile over the next five years if you drive the 70k. Usually, I do not like any extended warranties---sold too many of them in the day---but with a supercharger from AMG plus all the other parts---I did it---My total cost was $19,655 for a SRT with 917 miles plus $2035 for the warranty---$21,690 with 5yr/ 70,917 warranty. We will see if it was worth it!!!! I figure if the car is worth $12,690 with 71k after 5 years, it will have costed me under 12.9 cents per mile for deprecation plus repairs (the two "biggies")---I will have to add maintenance plus any deductibles to that cost per mile, but to start at under 13 cents per mile for such a great car---I thought it was a steal!!!!

Wow pretty dirty of chrysler only offering a 3/36 on a car that cost nearly 50k new,I was thinking of getting an extended warranty but the ones I've had in the past turned out to be a waste of money.

I agree on the extended warranties. Like I said, I have sold A LOT of them and made big bucks---more than double my money at the dealer level---standard in the industry---a $700 policy is sold for $1500 plus---It's called "back end" money. I had my reservations, but with the supercharger costing 6k new and 2k rebuilt PLUS labor and all the other AMG only parts IC, beefed-up trans, etc---I took the shot at 2.9 cents per mile. My car was 5 going on 6 years old when I bought it---only 900 miles but still had the age. From my days in repair, A/C problems start about 7 years or so and definitely by 10 years---no matter what the miles are. A/C systems are under 75 psi even at rest---Called static pressure. My guess is I will get my money back just on the A/C alone before 11 years since built---MB's A/Cs are not cheap. And although it sucks, no other high performance manufacturer gives a 7/70---Not Porsche, AMG Mercedes, BMW Ms, etc---and their cars cost even more. Chrysler was in line for this type of car---Actually, MB made that decision, I'm sure! Just the cost of "the grin"---permagrin that is!!! Let us know about the dealer and check to see if the nuts were turned on that 50 amp fuse. You will see marks from a wrench!!! Good Luck---Jimmy

Dam now you got me thinking I need to get my new baby an extended warranty. What is a good company to go with? On a side note from what I've read there is no longer a manufacturer of an aftermarket sc pulley.Has anyone tried using the pulley from an slk 230 .I have one in my garage from when I was trying to fab a sc setup for my triumph gt6.

I thought it was worth it at 2.9 cents per mile for a high performance car like the SRT. If it a run-of-the-mill Honda or Toyota, I would say NO. Do a search on here, Chrysler Factory Plan and the guy s name is Micheal---Mine was 5 years or 70k from the day of purchase for $2035 with a $200 deductible. It was $2680 for a $100 deduct---I went the other way. Can not help on the pulley but others can on here---FOR SURE!

ok I just got off the phone with Chrysler and they offered me 4yr/100k added care warranty for $1722 with $150 deduct. Seems like a good deal I think I'm going to make a call to the local stealer just to see if they offer a better deal but either way for that price I don't think I can go wrong.

Like the mileage, if it will be your daily like mine. Find that Micheal guy---he beat everybody when I was looking. Many on here have used him, that's how I found him---It is a Chrysler Factory Plan. Good luck---Jimmy

Edit----Here's the guy---Just got off the phone with him---Number is good!!!!

and the drama continues.Yesterday i spoke to the service manager and was told they replaced the PCM the fan was now kicking on but was not turning off on its own so they had to order another part.she told me they had to order a Fan module and its coming from Boston so if they ordered it yesterday there is a chance it will arrive today. At this rate I'll have a whole new cooling system before they are done.

Just be happy that it is not the alarm system---They would throw parts at that too. It was never the PCM (still my bet---didn't fix it, did it?) ---So why did they replace it?---Here's why---They were guessing and this guess would make them money---BIG money---The PCM is covered under warranty so they replace it and charge Chrysler damn near $2000, and NOW they will TRY to fix the REAL problem (Like I said, I owned repair shops for 10 years---hired many techs from dealerships---happens ALL the time---They get the nickname "stealership" for a reason---They will PILE ON warranty work whenever they can---They just need a VIN and your car gave them one---They will NEVER admit it to you, but I have had too many guys that told me the same story over and over and over again)---the relay/module was "sticking" off, and now it's "sticking" on (this was the "computer" that is and was malfunctioning---It was not a mechanical "stick"; it was a circuit or software "stick" or glitch) ---This sounds more like the problem all along---makes more sense too. The dealer just does not see enough of these cars. The Crossfire has little to no cross over systems with other cars in their bays. The techs must go to books every time or in my case---call the Chrysler engineer, which I thought was funny since MB engineered the car---It's like starting over and over every time just like the movie Groundhog Day---Bless their little hearts !!! Good luck and let us know the out come---Did you call and get a quote from Mike Case? May pay to have that warranty after all, if people are going to throw parts at a car to fix it!!!

OK I think the drama is almost over with.I just spoke to the service manager and the stealership that has my car finally broke down and called Chrysler tech and got the answer someone else here had suggested.
Apparently the fan was drawing too many amps,it burned out the relay which in turn sent the bad signal to the PCM.So they have replaced the PCM,relay and now they are waiting for a new fan.If this finally rectifies the problem I should have my ride by the end of the week then once I can run it thru emissions I'll start on the performance mods .

GREAT news---WOO HOO---FINALLY ---The above NOW makes sense; this is the chain---Still consider calling Mike---Throwing "extra" parts at a car is way to common these days; it may be worth the price of admission for the warranty---If this ONE repair was coming out of your pocket---total cost---around 3 GRAND!!! Let us know and have fun with her when you get her out of this mess---Jimmy

oh yeah I'm definitely going with the warranty and fingers crossed I'm thinking they got it right this time seeing thru process of elimination there can be nothing else left to replace, funniest part is the service manager was actually chuckling while she told me how they replaced all 3 possible culprits.

It's FUNNY when it's OTHER peoples money ---Mike will treat you right---Cool guy---And you are correct, NOTHING else to replace (they covered everything but the fuse and harness)---FYI---chances are only one of these parts were bad---they only needed to know how to use a multi-meter to figure out which part was bad---that and what the correct readings should have been---TEST, TEST, TEST is better (cheaper) than REPLACE, REPLACE, REPLACE.

Just a thought---Tell them that you want your old parts---In some states, repair shops must offer the parts to the customers---There is not a core charge on what was replaced, so you should be able to have them---not all three were bad---you may need one of them in the future---The PCM used is worth a few hundred bucks alone---Like I said, just a thought.

Finally picked her up today and you are not going to believe what the bill was for this fiasco. As the girl behind the counter handed me the keys I asked out of sheer curiosity what the total was.At first she told me the stealership I bought the car from was being billed $1223.00 not counting the $400 for the rental they gave me.So I figured maybe $3k total but had to ask for the whole bill and she started flipping pages in her hand and her fingers were flying on the calculator and the grand total was over $6800.00.I gasped with relief when she told me 2 of the parts they replaced were over $2k each.On the long ride home I noticed some whining from the rear when under torque climbing a hill . Is this the sound of the common driveshaft issue? Figure I'll have em check it out while still totally covered.

That warranty is looking better and better! Take it for what you think it's worth, but I would not say ANYTHING about this repair when buying the warranty. Glad it is done!!! Definitively, have them fix that rear---not normal---Good luck, Jimmy
