I'm interested but wouldn't want to send my TCM to Germany ..... anywhere actually. I've been wanting the equivalent to the MTCM for the LX's and this could be it.

So the software installl in Germany would overwrite my Eurocharged tune? I wonder how that would turn out. The price alone with the parts being sent overseas and getting it all to work correctly the first time is way more than what I would ever spend to have very little improvement over my car the way it is running now. And not sure if that tune would improve my already awesome tune I have. I can't complain about how fast my car is shifting at this time. I am reading all of this correctly?

from what i understand any changes that e/c has done was thru the ecu. this tune is strictly tcu related and wont affect the ecu tune. now i do know e/c has a tcu tune but its done separately from their standard tunes and req. the tcu be removed and sent to them.
it may be just me but im expanding form drag racing to making the car turn. for d/r its soimply hit the floor when hooked and keep it there as the trans shifts at redline. having the ability to keep the car in a certain gear at redline without the chance of it upshifting in the middle of a corner is worth the pirice of admission to me.
if someone has a better explanation please feel free to expand!

Hi,

i've contaced the copmpany today to get a price tag. It will take a little time to check shipping costs, warranty etc. So please be patient. I will give you a price tag as soon as possible.

Open questions:
@ Mimi05SRT6
32krazy is absoltely right. This is a tcu (gearbox) software tuning and won't affect your ecu tune.

@ latemodel21
As far as i know the SLK32AMG is a little different from the SRT-6. I will check for you if they have a SLK32AMG solution. I think Emaxx has answered your question.

bigblock427 i wouldnt think theres any difference between the srt-6 and the slk32. the 32 was built before the srt-6 (2002-2004) and the srt-6 uses almost every part from the slk32 with the exception of the body and some small interior parts. mechanically its almost identical. the tcu and the trans should be the same and the ecu may have different coding for power but we havent confirmed this yet. i have a 2003 slk32 and im very interested in the mod. let me know what you need from me to help

I can't stand the way my autostick controls things for me. I am certainly in depending on:

1. Turnaround time.
2. Cost.
3. Reliability (I do not want to be a beta tester).

Oh.....not many good reports abut this EC mod.
When reading about it I didnt realise it was best paired with the paddles - but makes sense.
Lazy Q - I'm guessing EC dont do the paddles/kit - have to talk to latemodel

Not sure about the bigblock one as per post #1

Short info.

The N/A version works. There is a little cold start problem with the sotware. So for the first 500 metres the transmission doesn't change gears in automatic mode - so you have to change gears manual. This isn't solved yet. There are some Crossfires running the software without any other problems. The guys that bought the TCU software are all pleased with the result, because gear changes are also a little faster.

The SRT6 / C32 version works like a charme without any problems.

Evotech charges 500 euros for the TCU software update. I think if you ask for a group buy you'll get a 20% rebate. If you're interest in a group buy, please ask Evotech directly. They also have a dependance in the US.

Regards
Markus

I am not sure I would use the phrase "best paired"

you can enjoy the benifits of either mod with or without the other ...

I have found that the paddles and the tcu mod compliment each other very nicely. but one is not needed to enjoy the other ....

I think that most all of the TCU mods out there are still a "work in progress" . I have a eurocharged TCU and it doesnt seem to cause any major issues for me ... but I think that they have a thing or two to work out on it still.

Chris

Thanks Markus for this update. Does the Evotech dealer in the U.S.(Scottsdale)do the TCU software update, or would we still have to send to Germany? Sending it out overseas seems to be a deal breaker for many; including myself. $650.USD?
