Roof Leak Issue - SRT6
It has been raining the last day or so here and I have discovered another little issue in regards to the car. This is an issue of the roof leaking water in the rear.
It is occurring on both sides about where the plastic pillar covers meet the headliner. I have checked the little black rubber pieces where the hinges are on the trunk to make sure they were okay. They seemed okay to me, but it was raining and I did not get a chance to fully inspect it.
The SRT is not a convertible. I did search and it seemed the last time a thread was created was back in 2006 and 2008.
Was there some type of bulletin Chrysler made if there were any issues? Any ideas?
Thanks!

Is it leaking from the top or the bottom?

possibly the weather seal around the back window? You need to be careful. Robert in "Somewhere I don't remember" Tennessee had to replace his wiring loom because it shorted out in the boot due to water damage.

I will have to recheck the weather stripping again, it looked okay.
I see that everyone that has answered lives in Tennessee, that may explain why I cannot understand what people are talking about.
Photos or a better description would help, 'little black rubber pieces' ?

The problem isn't that the responses originate from Tennessee, it's your IQ.

That loom only contains the pneumatic line for the trunk lock, and the wiring for the 3rd brake light... On N/A cars, it would also contain the wiring for the spoiler.
Double check the "snugness" of that seal... that's most likely the culprit.
Also, pull your trim panels and make SURE that no water is standing in the rear floor anywhere. The main "hub" for all locking systems is in the low-spot, near the gas filler tube (RH rear). When it shorts out, the car goes nuts and won't lock/unlock.

The trim pieces are already loose. It should not be too difficult to check.

At the very least take the trunk mat out and check for water around the Styrofoam covers that the mat sits on, any water could be seen in the gap between it and the trunk pan. Any water will destroy the pneumatic pump and you will have an expensive part to replace.
