Default Service quote for a SRT6?

Hi to all in the forum, just a question for you regarding cost of 1 spanner ,5 years service in a chrysler dealer.
I have a 2006 chrysler crossfire srt 6 with 22000 miles ,its time to service.. the car,12 months since i bought and need a service now, only did 3000 miles though, had three services from new ,anyway phone Chrysler manchester and they quote me £780!!!for a 1 spanner service with all the normal things oil, filter etc.. plus new spark plugs, new coolant and new brake fluid because the car is five years old in december ,is this a fair price?looks to me very dear...i dont mind to pay a little bit more because is a dealer but looks a rip off to me.

Many thanks

Tony

I have 2 SRT 6's so I feel your pain but I am a mechanic so it helps
It's a terrible rip off!! Buy the stuff and have a buddy do the oil change and spark plugs. Plugs are pain but much cheaper through needswings.com and the labor is horrible at a dealer! You don't NEED anything but an oil change every 6-7k miles as synthetic won't brake down. The fluid flushes are fine for piece of mind but not required yet. When in doubt, ALWAYS follow the schedule in your owners manual

Thanks for the reply Blake.
It's what I though a big rip off but i did not service the car myself since i bought last year and I'm not sure what they change on the last service as was done by a independent garage,so I want to replace as the service booklet advise just for piece of mind,i have to find a independent Chrysler garage so will be cheaper.

You have a 2006 SRT? Awesome! Can you post some pics? They are very rare.

England counts the model year by the in service date. Totally different than in the US.

i had my local chrysler dealer phone me up (they are obviously short of work) to ask when i was going to get my n/a coupe serviced, it is an 07 and was last serviced when i bought it in june 2010 with 12000 on the clock, i have only done just over 3000 miles since then, i asked how much a 1 spanner service would be was quoted £240 plus £40 for a brake fluid change didnt sound too bad but do i really need a fluid change with only 15000 miles on her.... or should i wait for the car to tell me when the service needs doing...chris

I said it before and I'll say it again, follow what the owners manual says, and the oil time counter on the dash is all you need if reset each oil change

Plugs should be good through 100k miles (or 160k km). There are 12 of them, so parts alone are pricey.
