Default any issues with the supercharger itself?

Sort of just occurred to me (in my quest for getting a srt6), that if the supercharger failed on this car, the car pretty much becomes a write-off - in that, I'm guessing, replacing the sc would be at least half the cost of a used 6.

I've been reading this forum quite extensively over the past few days and have not really seen any mention of failing superchargers. I assume that means as long as you don't go crazy with the boost, you are pretty happy? Or would going crazy with the boost become more of an engine blowing up worry vs. sc issue? Either way, same difference I guess.

Some have failed. Mine failed due to an extended high sprited run while running stacked pulleys. Cost was 6-7K (warranty).

I know Randy had his SC replaced also. Can't remember why.

Our superchargers show up on Ebay once in a while for around $800 - $1,500 or so. That or a salvage yard is the way I would go if it was on my dime.

I wouldn't worry about the S/C failing... The failings of our cars are the same problems as any other boosted car...no more no less.....unless you are DJ...pushing the poor limits of a twin screw... you thought you had that big bad chevy SC hangin' out of the hood...

none. other than passengers being startled and car savvy people hearing it. it sure makes for an attractive engine bay, especially with one of our member's after-market decals on it. i'm happy with it stock and taking the mod issue out of it. not that there's anything wrong with that.

good to know there haven't been many issues. and that you can get a re-manufactured one for a reasonable price.
