That VIN shows up in the SRT6 VIN list and is listed as a SALVAGE TITLE..... interestingly that pic of the title is titled as 'salvage srt'......

 

I looked it up on there as well and saw it was listed as salvage. I am from Colorado and am not familiar with Texas Titles but it looks like a regular title as far as I can see. In CO we have salvage in red on those type of titles so who can say. Are you familiar with Texas titles?

 

Nope.... just putting the info out there as a caution... it may be a clean title and just got bad info for the VIN list....

 

Thanks for your concern and I do plan on caution as there is always somebody trying as scam and I do not want to be the victim.

 

In Texas the a clean title looks exactly like a salvage title except there will be a note on it stating salvage. You should request for them to email a picture of the title and do a Car Fax. If this car was ever salvaged and now has a clean title, that would be title washing and is highly illegal and someone is going to jail.

 

I pretty much think the price tells it all ..........nobody is going to sell a clear title SRT6 for $7 1/2k when all it needs is a supercharger clutch and oil cooler, (available from parting SLK32's as well as crossfire) and then they could get going rate $12-13K easy ............suspicious to me

Washing is WAY too easy---Saw it TOO often when I bought cars at the auction---Carfax yes, but that is the START not the LAST word---Have this car put on a lift and CHECK it out---If you do not know how---Find someone who does---Price is WAY low for clear, but maybe!!! Good luck and DOUBLE check this one!

I just went by there... I did not see a SRT-6 out in the yard or anything....so, make sure you call them to set everything straight before you go to view/drive or anything.

 

When I called and talked to Vili he said this address to look at the car was 638 W Parker Rd Houston TX, 77091. I live in CO so am not able to hop over there to take a look

 

Goggle Earth shows WESTEX Paint, Body and Frame Repair at 638 W.Parker Road, Houston, TX 77091. It list a phone as 713-742-5116. The Goggle Earth picture shows a large A frame metal building.

Google search on the vin doesn't look too promising as far as having found a diamond in a goat's a$$....

 

It just may be a diamond in a goat's a$$. On the insurance website, it doesn't identify the title type. Cars with clear titles sell at insurance auctions all the time. Whoever really wants this car should pony up quickly for a car fax and jump on it if it is clear. At this price do we know if the car is still there?

 

Not saying it couldn't be a major score..l. Worst case you've got a grand in sales just with headlights and fog lights! LOl.

Does anybody have a carfax access? Just popped mine up and reeaally wonder here.
