Default Confused about dyno

So I have been doing research about installing a eurocharged sc pulley and ecu tune... How is it that the site claims it will put your car over 400hp... Yet youtubers video their cars with this exact modification and needswings CAI to boot - and their vehicle dynos at 348 which is actually not that much of an advance from stock... Am I missing something? Please break it down for a noob in lament terms. Thanks!

I just want to make sure I am not paying a grand, plus... For only 10 extra horsepower. That seems ridiculous.

your confusing crank hp with rear wheel hp numbers. the sales pitch of 349 hp is crank hp. most dyno about 350 rwhp. add 18% drivetrain loss and your close to 400 crank hp

Yes, what Steve said. Your SRT6 stock is probably making less than 300 wheel HP.

I have seen several stock SRT"s dyno at different time and on different machines and the numbers varied from 270 rwhp to 302 rwhp. The conversion to crank HP using 18% would be 318.6 to 356.4.

Really a dyno is only good for a before and after look.Run one before the mods and then later to see how much the difference is.

Exactly, dont get hung up on the numbers too much, different dynos give different numbers. THe factory rating of 330 hp is not even close to what they put down on dynos which is around 270-280.

They are only good tunning and once you start modifying for before and after comparisons on the same dyno.
