Default Drive Axle Compatibility, Wavetrac is in!

I installed my Wavetrac this weekend! Woohoo! I ordered a pair of Mickey Thompsons on Friday to go with it.

The bad news is that one of the outer CV joints has a bad catch in it. I think it's from me beating the crap out of it to get the spline out of the wheel hub. So I am looking for a used drive axle (halfshaft).

I'm having a little bit of a hard time confirming which ones will fit. Does anyone know if the SRT6 axles are the same as the non-SRT6 axles? My car is actually an SLK32 AMG, but it has the later 1-piece axles that are compatible with the Wavetrac. I think the SLK32 axles and SRT6 axles are the same. The differential is. Does anyone know for sure?

they are the same matt. what size dr's did you get? i ran the 265/40-18 mickey thompsons and shreddded them. to wide for our fenders with the torque im putting down. check before you launch them! ordered the same tire in a 245/40-18 so i should be ok after rolling my fenders this week

Thanks Steve. Do you know if just the SRT6 axles are compatible with the SLK32 AMG? or are ALL Crossfire axles the same?

I ordered the ET STREET RADIALS in 255/50-16.

I can't resist getting some 16" Voxx MG3s to match the 17" AMG front rims. The extra sidewall will be good too.

I'm running 255 width Hankook Ventus R-S3s in the rear now (great tire actually!) and I have not had any issues with them rubbing. So hopefully I'll be OK. I'm not launching as hard as you though!

Good man. I love the combo of the Voxx with the MT... Fits perfect and looks fantastic (In my biased opinion)

Alan, it was in your picture on dragtimes.com that I first saw the Voxx MG3s with the stock front wheels. I knew that was the setup I wanted as soon as I saw it! Your car looks great!

Am having a time getting to be able to pull axle for you, If spines are same, the na crossfire manual tranny axles look to have a heavier mid section than the SRT6 auto tranny axles. Was trying to get nut broke loose last night and did not have enough time to get her loose.
