First Upgrades
Hey Guys, I know im still pretty new to all this, and I feel really stupid asking about this. But im already getting very curious what I can do to my SRT to add some more performance. I was thinking a Cold Air Intake or an Upgraded pully. But I dont really know too much about all this. I know most of you guys have upgrades. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks
search function is boring but you will find at least 500 threads on this.

Feel free to email me any questions you may have, off the bat for the first round i would recommend the DCAI, oil catch can kit and asp178psk178. It will completely turn it into a new beast for you. Thanks, Rob

I am also looking for some upgrades without breaking the bank. I currently have th NW Isolation kit and a Johnson Pump. I am installing the H&R Sport cup suspension this weekend hopefully. I want some power adders.
What kind of power and times could I expect with adding:
EC SC pulley + DCAI + EC tune.
or
DCAI, oil catch can kit and asp178psk178
They don't sound like much, but they are a lot of money.
Other related questions:
1) What ECU tune is the best?
2) Why is the oil catch can needed as one of the first mods? I have not looked into it much yet (spending most of my little free time on the Ferrari). I assume this is done to keep from blowing the oil from the PCV system back into the engine, therefore possibly making a tad bit more power?
3) Is the DCAI worth it, or does the single make just as much power? If not going extreme now, is the DCAI worth it? Can you upgrade the single to the dual later?
Lots of questions I know, but it is hard for me to find time to read up on the forums.....

oil catch can;

read post #54
DCAI vs CAI different opinions but I have read that most feel the DCAI gives the SC ability to pull whatever it needs without restriciton (especially if you plan on doing pulleys to increase boost).
Great products specific to xfire; Artwork
ECU tune- Eurocharged out of Houston, straight forward webpage and will take the time to talk on the phone. Buy the first ECU tune then they re-flash for free if you buy the remote tuning cable.
I have no mods yet, just lots of reading time logged.

- You can't go wrong with a Eurocharged tune. There are other players out there, but I've got the EC tune on mine and love it. It's a flash tune, so it's generic/broad enough to give some safety margin.
- The Needswings Oil Catch Can is priceless. Cleaner engine is a better engine, and once you see what comes out, you'll be a believer. Without the catch can, that stuff simply gets ingested into the motor. Cheaper catch cans might work for a while but the media will quickly clog. Rob sells a quality product, and he's not making a killing on the catch can.
- The single is more than adequate. The DCAI allows additional air for those trying to wring out every last HP, and it looks more balanced so it's aesthetically pleasing. I know of several members with a single CAI that are near/in the 11's in the 1/4 mile. The dual allows sharper throttle response and some added midrange curve. The single, when equipped with the proper filter, flows within 150CFM of the DCAI so the single isn't exactly a bad way to go. Having said that, nobody has ever regretted buying the dual. Pick your poison.
I recommend you start off with:
NW Sheet metal manifolds
NW Dual CAI
NW pulley saver
NW catch can
NW 178 or EC 181
Machined stock pulley
SL55 fuel pump
TTM fuel injectors
TTM fuel rail and crossover
Tune
Dashdaq w/ wideband
Once you have these starter mods it will be time for some Hoosiers and race wheels. Once that's done, buy some skinnies.
