I'm the new guy
I have had my SRT for about 10 weeks. It is a great car to drive and own. But it is a Mercedes Benz (SLK320 AMG)and a low production car also. So, given that, you should realize that parts are rarer and more expensive than many other cars. I am not trying to discourage you, but I am speaking from experience. When I was younger I bought a 71 Jaguar Series III E-type 2+2 that had a 12 cylinder engine. It was expensve, complicated and required a lot of work. I had to choose between all of the things a young man normally goes for (girls, entertainment, and girls) and the Jag. I found I couldn't do it all on the income from the job I had. I was overextended by bying the Jag all by itself. The XF is much more reliable, but make sure you are willing to give up other things if something $$ goes wrong. Your choice. Don't forget that insurance will be more $ on this type of car for a male your age. I guess this advice is the Dad in me coming through. Sorry.
I don't know where you live, but there is a XF SRT for sale here in my town that has about 83k miles and he wants (I think) about $13 for it. So they are to be had for less if you look around. I paid less than $10k for my SRT. Got lucky to find it. Needed some work, but so far not too bad. Be patient and look around to buy the best one. Good luck!

I specifically chose srt6 forums because ever since I was 13 I've wanted a crossfire.. after further research I hands down decided than the srt6 was the way to go.
I am currently 17, and have a ford ranger.
I am selling whatever I can, saving whatever I can, and doing whatever I can to purchase an srt6 as quickly as possible.
I have a little over $10,000 saved up, so hopefully $6,000 more to go!
I have HUGE plans for my srt6 and mostly doing it myself.
Thanks for reading, see you around.

Hey those blue calipers look great!
I also like your badge-less look i was thinking about doing that myself.
And yes I do realize parts and repairs will be more expensive than alot of other cars. I've though about it alot actually, and hopefully I'll take good enough care to it that I'll be less likely to need repairs, although I understand lift happens and I'm sure I'll need a few fixes here and there. I also don't plan on putting too much stress on the car. It will be a daily for me, but only from here and there around my college campus. No cross country driving for me.
