Confirm my IC pump problem?
Was out driving last weekend, highways and back roads. I did the throttle reset before I went out. On the highway rolling about 60 I pinned the throttle down, slow acceleration, way too slow. That happened once. Another time I downshifted into 4 and pinned it and I was thrown back with power. Another time I was stopped on a dead end, put it in first and pinned it down and had full power. I only seem to have a lack of power from a roll when warmed up. IC pump? Only other time I noticed it was accelerating up a hill from 30 to 55 after being warmed up.

Its the pump. Replace it. Easy drive way fix. Can be done in an hour or two. I replaced with the cobra/lightning pump but you can buy the original or the johnson as well. Just call Needswings they will take care of you quick.
I had a situation like what is being described here one of the few times I had mine out. I thought for sure it was transmission fluid level though. Still haven't gotten around to checking it yet.
Do any of you guys have a thread that you could recomend that I read up on that explains how the IC pump not pumping causes irregular throttle response? Is it just heating up the air that much to cause vapor lock?

[quote=oledoc2u]Well Jesse, take it from ole' Doc Holliday....the pump doesn't pump enough fluid to cool to the S/C, so the temps go up setting off the temp sensor on the S/C, which sends a signal to shut the S/C down until the temp readings go back down within safe operating temps...so that sensor will give you the power as well as take it away if it hit the critical mark....this makes it buck like a bronco if it is shutting down/turning on....
Check the fuse to the IC pump also, mine had blew and that was the only reason for my IC pump issues and not the pump itself.
The other issue if it is the fuse is why did the fuse blow? I had no clue but 2k-3k miles later its still running fine.
