Default rough idle / car dies

I am having a problem with my SRT-6, 8000 miles. About a month ago I was driving around 40mph and the car dies. Pull over and it restarts but idles very roughly with a bad miss. It seems to smooth out with higher RPM. It gradually ran a bit better and managed to get it home. I did some research on this forum and thought it could be the CPS. I ordered one and a week later installed it. After start up I had the same bad idle, so I reinstalled the old one and figured I would keep it as a spare.

Went back to the forum and found some posts about a weak battery causing sensors to malfunction due to low voltage. The battery might have been original so I replaced it and presto..car ran great. It is only a weekend car so 2 weekends later this past Sat. I left my driveway and now the rough idle is back. I pulled back into the driveway, turned off the ignition and tried to start it again and -nothing - would not crank.
I tried 2 times and the 3rd time it started, but with the bad idle.

I am thinking of doing the RCM resoldering this weekend. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

I'ld take a hard look at the intake temp sensor. It'ld take 5 minutes to remove and reseat it and and if it pulls out easily, I'ld replace it. A new one runs $35-$50.
I had very similar symtoms as you are having where the car would run rough and konk out.
Good luck.

What code/codes do you have?

I have not had the codes read. There is no CEL. I am trying to avoid bringing it to the dealer. I might bring it to my independent mechanic. I know he'd rather not work on it but I'm sure he can read the codes. I'll post when this resolves.

Well I resoldered RCM on Sat. and drove 1/2 hour right after that and drove almost an hour today (Sun.). The car ran great the entire time. Not one stumble or miss in the idle. I am almost ready to call it fixed but will wait a week or two to be sure. Does anybody know if a bad solder connection in the RCM can cause our cars to die intermitently and idle roughly in addition to the no-start symptom?
