Chrysler announces new SRT6 to be put into production...
Seriously, announced this week. There will be a new SRT6 model, using the Pentastar V6...but it will be twin turbo'd!

I was under the impression that the new Dart was being considered for SRT badging. This I would buy.
The Journey is...not quite my first choice?

Now the prices of SRT6 badging may go down?
But do we really want to call our cars SRT6s anymore? Well, I'll call it my SRT. That brand they won't destroy in a heartbeat.

The Dart is happening...as the new SRT4. I'm just hoping they have a RWD/AWD option. That is definitely something I would buy.
That Journey is going to be a beast. If it starts out with twin turbos and 450HP, a tune and intake will put it easily at the 550HP mark. I think a modded one is going to give a supercharged SRT8 Jeep a run for it's money.

btw reply not only pointed towards you
If the 2011 FlexRay ecu in the LX and LC platform is an indication, forget tuning and modding. I think the days of ecu tuning are done. Encrypted ecu's will be in everything in a couple years.
I read about this yesterday. BARF on the SRT-6 Journey (don't care what it has under the hood). I like the Crossie being the only "SRT-6".
It's bad enough having to define the Chysler Crossfire SRT6 to people who don't appreciate it, but now I will have to deny any relationship to this monstrosity. Sorry guys, but there is more to a great car than horsepower -- it has to have looks and style as well as performance. This looks like a Kleenex box on wheels.

No different than the SRT4. Neon SRT4 was a beast, then the Caliber SRT4 was a bust. Now the Dart SRT4 should be awesome again. They did the Journey RT, don't think it took off at all. They should do either a Chrysler 200 or an Avenger SRT6. Not a "van" wannabe.
Well, what's impossible in electronics/computers today is routine tomorrow.
I agree with you, MrMoPar.
I think a Chrysler 200 SRT-6 would be 100 times cooler and translate to more $$ for Chrysler than a Journey SRT-6. Do the Execs have any clue on what the market would want?? Do they honestly think a Journey SRT-6 will generate sales???
Maybe they've thought of this and figured that spending $$ to develop a 200 SRT-6 will not be cost effective if a Dart SRT-4 will be on the market. It will lead to a sales competition between the two cars??
Actually, I wish the 200 came in a coupe too. I don't find the sedan or soft-top convertible attractive.

You know at one time all MB ECUs were encrypted too right? Didn't seem to stop the top tuners from making it possible...
Personally, I don't find it odd at all that a crossover is going to be the next SRT. I remember when the Jeep SRT8 came out and everyone felt the same way about a performance SUV. However, once they hit the dealer lots, they started growing on people and they did okay. Who knows, it might turn out to be a big flop. The Journey sort of reminds me of a bigger version of the Caliber. Anyway, back to work.
I doubt it. In fact when they sale less than 2,016 units, they will be the rare one.
Nah....They don't recognize us as being part of the Mopar family anyway. Suits me...I like being known as a Benz......
