Default New Owner "Mod addict"

Hi im a new srt6 owner and love to mod. I previously had a 2005 GTO and put some soul into it CAI, Headers, and tune. Long story short I miss the power. I know the srt6 is really fast but I'm not sure if it would beat the GTO and that bothers me. Has any one beat a GTO if so what did it take to do it iif anything. ..... also curious about the M3 would love to here some stories about the M3 just because I love the car. Thanks all.

13.5's for the most part but I would like to think if I had the chance to run it with the short shifter the times would have improved. I felt the dif. on the street anyway.

A stock SRT would beat it. A lightly modded one would wax it.

All you need is a pulley, intake and tune. I'm running 11's during cooler weather. Welcome aboard!

I had an 01 M3 (hence my screen name). Loved the car's feel, build quality, resale. I traded for a faster car....which I have done all my life.
I've never lost to a GTO...but then again, I don't go to the track......only the occasional street thing......and my xf is modded.

Watch those temps., and hopefully you also have AFR gauge. That 185, I mean 62mm pulley, is going to heat things up for sure. And to OP; Welcome to the Forum, how about some pic.'s of your new ride.

I've pulled away from 3 GTO's. 1st while unmodded, from a stop light start up to about 70. At the next stop light, he asked what I had... seemed a little embarrased to have been beat by a 6-cylinder. 2nd was after I added the intake. Very similar to the first, though he didn't seem embarrased at all. And the 3rd, was from about a 40mph roll, still no joy for the GTO.

I'm not knocking the Goats, as there are lots of upgrade paths for those cars, and I've seen a few on
videos that are real beasts. I had thought about buying one sometime back, but they just don't have
the styling of a Crossfire.

when my slk32 was stock I took on a '05 GTO from a red light on an open road & didnt back off until he was in my rearview, doing ~100-110

nice looking cars but too heavy
had a '65 a couple decades ago & loved it till it wrapped around a tree (my brother just HAD to borrow it....never forgiven him)

Goats love to eat anything....especially SRT-6 dust! Sorry, but they are heavy, slow, and not very stylish (add in the dead brand). M3s around here are driven by attractive middle-aged women or trust fund babies that don't know how to drive a manual. Only gripe is I barely fit in the car, but it has loads of power.

Here's a video of a race between the two:

Here's what the GTO forum has to say about the SRT6:

-"Stock they run a low to mid 13 second 1/4 mile. For about a $1000 you can change the pulley and the intake an run 12.6-12.8 with them.
Treat them with respect!!!"

-"i beleive they are 320 hp out of the box. i test drove a standard 220 hp one just before buying the gto. i came real close to buying it at 22000. the srt 6 must be a screamer."

-"Sounds right damn fast will def treat with respect lol."

-"Beware of the Crossfire."

Here's a link to the thread where I found the comments: SRT-6 Crossfire - Pontiac GTO Forum
