My SRT6 is slow
First time taking my car to the track since I got it a few months ago. The car has a dual hot air intake, and a eurocharged tune. I tried going down the track in drive as well as holding the shifts a bit higher. didn't make a difference. had traction control off. launches felt pretty good. and car seemed to pull pretty good the whole 1/4 mile. here are my times
60' 2.140
330 5.858
1/8 8.860
mph 81.56
1000 11.449
1/4 13.616
mph 104.40
Went down the track 4 times, amazingly consistent. It was about 58-65 degrees outside and maybe a little humid as it was spitting out off and on. I am surprised because it seems to be slower than stock. Could there be something wrong with my car?
Thanks. I have videos of my races if anyone is interested

Elevation here is 480M (1500) feet. Only 30,000 miles on the car. I bought the car with this aftermarket inkate allready on it. Also came with the factory one. I plan on modifing this intake to get the filters up by the grill. I put the eurocharged tune on it which was an obviouse improvement.
The car should be well into the 12's. Sixty ft needs improvement but its not terrible. That temp is ideal but the elevation is killing your time. Check your time corrected for elevation. A Cai will help but not much.
Thats probably nowhere near long enough to cool down the motor, I'd say half hour to forty five minutes minimum! I was told to put the shifter into manual mode gear#1, hold brake and rev to1200-1500rpm, let off the brake.... at the same time push gas down! Let tranny shift itself in manual mode(trust me it will shift itself at redline, try it out sometime), should cross the line in 4th gear!
Looks like my altitude is only costing me about 1 mph. Yea my car was definately still hot after 10 min. But still i should be able to get lower than a 13.6. I also held it in first and let it hold its shifts longer and it made no difference
yea im going to modify my intake and head back to the track latter in september. My launches felt pretty good. very little wheel spin. I will try torquing it up a bit higher
Hey I converted my intake into a cold one and tested at the drag strip. I was very impressed. with out letting the car cool down i did a 13.2 @ 107. Then I tried letting it cool down for about an hour and hit 13.1 @ 107.7 getting close to 12's
. Plus it was 80 degrees rather than 60 the last time I raced.
sorry no filters for sale.

I let the car cool down for about an hour. It was still 170 degrees though. Is that cold enough? Launched the car at about 1200 with very little wheel spin. car in drive with traction control off

You need more seat time, and to get rid of your current intake setup or modify it to cold air. If your elevation only "costs" you 1 MPH, something is off. And I highlighted my favorite part of the passage, so it could be contrasted against my signature below.
Are you talking to me or OP?
OP needs the seat time(in this particular vehicle), I was quoting your statement as a rebuttal to the CAI not doing much by itself. No trash talking going on.
A SRI compared to stock is a significant difference. A SRI ( which is what the op originally had) compared to CAI in my experience is not that much. i have tried both. Not in the same day but within the month. I did see an improvement with Cai, although not as much as i expected. Its just my experience. The OP obviously has had better results.
If he is putting down 2.0 60' times what makes you think he needs more seat time? That's pretty damn good on street tires, and after the launch all one needs to do is hold down the pedal and keep the wheel straight.
Fwiw I ran a 13.2 at 109mph with a DA of 5500. I have Intake,pulley, and tune. I'd be happy with a 12.5 with a good launch at a better track

exactly what I was thinking linstr63. not very much user input with an automatic. Hey chuck what was the the altitude and temperature when you got your time? pretty impressive for just an intake. is that typical?
