Default Interesting dcai observation

I have observed some data that I was surprised by.
My srt 6 has a 65mm pully and a needswings cai.
My boost gauge has a highest boost record setting.
The highest boost I saw was just a hair under 18lbs and it was repeteable.
I converted to the needswings dual cai with extreme filters and have now been able to record just a hair under 20 lbs of boost.
I found this odd as I didn't think it would change anything at WOT.
I is not that much cooler out now with the dual as to two weeks ago with the single.
Any theories?????
I'm not complaining, I just don't understand why I'm reading more boost.

When I was designing the DCAI I recorded a one pound of pressure loss in the CAI vs the DCAI. This is a traumatic difference and yes, this is how I got so much gain in the dyno tests of both styles. BTW the CAI is a great improvement over the factory approach also.

Note how flat the torque curve was, the extra power got me into the cooling quest for lower temps.....

Wow that is interesting information.
Well I guess I can back up that claim.
I should also note that I removed my magnaflow muffler and replaced it with a straight through pipe.
I don't know if that has any effect on it as I didn't expect a change so I didn't think to check one thing at a time.
Also to add this use to be mrphotomans car. He ran an 11.86 with it.
The tracks are closed until spring so I have no other numbers to add

Waldig not to get off topic but you seem to know your stuff.
I see in you signiture that you have a sprint booster.
I took mine out of my limited when it was totaled.
What is your impression of it? It's hard to get this car to hook up so I figured the sprint booster would be to touchy?

My use of the sprint booster and the dual throttle body was to get OFF THE CORNER in autocrossing and it if broke loose with the phantom grip all the better to drift the rear. In drag racing I was never able to flat floor it as wheel spin would take me down with any of my three sets of slicks even the 275/40/17s. Sprint adds a bit of snap to the response, I now have the adjustable one and see little measurable difference between the settings.

My dual throttle body opens up twice as fast as the engine sees two tb opening at the same rate, I.E. twice the opening rate which assisted, again in autocrossing. Iam sure that it also assists in the lowering of inlet restriction, possibly giving me more torque down low. That is also the reason I cross connected the inlet manifolds to provide more charge filling to the cyclinders, again twice the volume in the manifold and both wye to manifold pipes are in parallel also. Hey, it a v motor, might as well double your fun.

Glad your having success with your car. Please note that you added the DCAI in the fall and the air is much denser at these cooler temperatures. Some of your gain may be due to the weather, DA plays havoc on motors volumetric efficiency.*

Thank you for the input. I am aware of what temps and AD does. I was just surprised to see 2lbs of boost increase. Ill be able to get a better idea of the actual change as time goes on.

I was wondering about those Xtreme filters. They're twice the cost but can you tell the difference from the standard ones? Does the motor sound the same?
They look like the same size but it's a tight fit behind the grill.

Can I tell the diffrence?
Not an easy question.
The car had a single cai with the extreme filter.
I added the dual and another extreme filter.
I have no experience with the standard filters for the cai.
It would definitly be a tight fit with the factory grille but if you positioned everything just right you should be able to get them in.
I know this doesn't really answer your question but this is the info I can provide.
