Search the forum for the common problems thread. It is the first thing a newbie should do on here. This question comes up at least once a week. BTW, what color is the roadster?

It's very common to have a little rust at the bottom of the doors where the weatherstripping goes. Also, I recommend trying out the seat heaters too. You should feel heat from both the back and lower part of the seats. If yours has either of these small issues, point it out to the salesman and maybe you'll get a few bucks off the price. Other than that, there's not much that goes wrong.

By the way, if you feel a power surge and/or decrease in power on your drive home, don't panic. It's likely just the intercooler pump dieing and it's a cheap and easy fix.

Welcome to forum and enjoy that roadster.

Kevin .... Great to hear that you chose to get an SRT. Hopefully its coming from a good home, and has been well taken care of. What to look for????? All depends on many factors. Where are you located? Maybe there is a forum member nearby that can help you check it out. Remember the SRTs are now approaching 7 to 8 yrs old, and in that time they can be either babied, or neglected. If you expect to get a near "perfect" example of an SRT, it depends on its previous history, and how it has been maintained. Buying from a "dealer" provides no credible evidence of its previous life. Many private owners that have meticulously taken care of their cars, actually may keep a file of documentation, supporting its life. You won't get this from a "dealer".
Give us some facts about the car, mileage, location, general cosmetic condition..... Did you take a few pics that you could post? Remember .... there may be a member nearby to you, that would be willing to help. Just sayin........

Spider web bumper means damage. Faded front bumper could mean damage as well. This doesn't happen to blk roadsters unless they have been repainted. Mine has been babied but I keep it spotless. I just had a door skin and front bumper touched up. A few nicks here and there. Good old blk. Good luck with your purchase. But get underneath her for a look.

I'd be buying a Carfax on the car if you haven't already.

Welcome to the forum, the biggest thing I would be concerned with is how the car was maintained and cared for. The bumper issues could be the result of more damage that should be checked into before getting too serious with the purchase. Other than that I can not begin to tell you how much fun you will have with this car, I have had mine for a little over a year now and I have never driven anything that compares to these cars, can't keep the smile off my face.

This forum has all the answers to the few issues that are common to this car, as well as a very supportive group of members.

Good luck with your purchase, hoping you will have as much fun with it as I have with mine.

Hi Kevin,

Just saw your post today so this may already be history since you put down a deposit at the dealer. I have an 05' SRT6 with only 41K miles. It is graphite grey and is in excellent condition for mechanical, body and interior. Every single option/feature is in working condition. Great tires, absolutely no curb rash on the rims and the calipers are painted red. New top installed by Chrysler and also a new windshield. It has a grill bra, rear wind screen and a custom front windshield wind deflector. This is not a project car and has been painstakingly maintained. It has been a garage queen for the time I have owned it. I also have the original Monroney window sticker ($50,000.00), a car fax and history docs. I live outside of Los Angeles and have plenty of pics available. Call me if you are interested........Michael (760) 832-2645 .

Look for the usual things like overspray and check for gaps/unevenness in all of the body panels to see if the car has been in any accidents. Mine had a bad IC pump and it turned off on me due to the rcm issue, no biggie especially if you do the work yourself.

Graphite Grey SRT6 with only 41k? Wish I lived in SoCal to check out that beauty! I put some curb rash on my wheels recently on the narrow streets around here..always painful

Graphite gray SRT6 roadster. That would look so nice in my signature. Too bad SoCal is so far away and it is winter.

Winter is no problem in Palm Springs. Temps are in the 70's and the sky is blue. Fly out...and drive it home. All kidding aside this is one clean, stock and pampered SRT6 Roadster. No problems, no cel's, no repairs required. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you some great pics.
