Default Intake

I was wondering what was the best intake? Is it the expensive need swings? Do I need a dual setup or can I get by with a single? I've seen the slk55 air box on one and it looked totally ****!. What about the TVT system? Or K&N? I also think I can make my own by getting some bits from my local Home Depot.

So which is it? What is the best intake for this car?

Shouldn't this be in the "I'm on Drugs" thread?

I call your "Home Depot" intake and raise you a Dryer Vent intake.

Quick give that to Steve. I bet that one would work for his Porsche.

That was mine, FWIW.

Why do you care anyway?
How is this related to that big honkin V8 you have ?

Max's has the filters in the pipes, not out front blocking the radiator.

It would be really nice if you could somehow do a 180 on the manifold and get the TB up front. That would allow much shorter pipe runs and reduce heat soak, just thinking.

I have not figured it all out yet but the best intake would take air directly from the back of the hood area against the windshield with straight shot into the inlet.

I bought the CF hood and plan on modifying it to do just that.....no plumbing under the hood in the engine compartment.

Agreed, just can't figure out what to do about an air cleaner.

I got that figured out just not what to do about a "scoop" or other device for housing the filter. The biggest thing is needing to cut into the surround at the firewall around the wiper transmission. I have decided that if I cut a 18" section out and weld in a box 18"x14" I can make it work with a K&N filter .........just have not seen a nice looking solution for the bulge or air intake needed to be in the hole in the hood without looking like it doesn't belong. Open to any and all suggestions.....the 1 I had looked at is not esthetically appealing.
