Talking LED backup lights

I am waiting for my third set of lamps to see what is acceptable for the backup lamp socket in the crossfire. The best bet so far is still in the mail, listed below:

2pcs 1156 BA15S 3W CREE Q5 High Power Auto Signal Stop Tail LED Light Bulb White | eBay

Two failed led assemblies that I have tested are below. They were both bright and much whiter than the yellow incandescent lamps. BUT they were both weaker and incapable of lighting the ground below the car, to the rear. They looked better but were not really acceptable.

2 Super White P21 4W BAZ15D 150º 24 SMD LED Signal Light Bulb Dual Filament | eBay

and

4X T25 BAY15D 1157 Pure White 60 SMD LED Tail Stop Brake Turn Light Lamp Bulb US | eBay

More when I find a good choice. BTW I have oodles of resistor to keep the lamp out indicator from coming on. If you need some, let me know. Woody

Woody thanks for posting your findings on those. And you say you have lots of the resistors for the dash light out cool. Some don't work I have found.......Just testing the diff colors.....some are more readily readable than others.

Talking Re: LED backup lights

I went and located 2 watt resistors at 100 ohms that will make the light out indicator happy - with no lamp in the socket - yippie.

If you wanna mail me a self addressed and stamped envelope, Ill return it with 6 resistors good for 6 lights for $1.00. Ill get them tested tomorrow and get a photo posted. These are american resistors, Ill have to photo it mananna.

Stupid question but is that resistor only applicable for the reverse lamps? Or does that work for other lamps as well?

Thanks,

How did you hook up the resistors for the back up lights so there won't be a light out indicator?? I tried and tried but couldn't figure it out!

Hey Woody,
These are a little expensive, but they don't get much brighter then these...

Home page

I run these for my driving lights...

6K WHITE 4 LED 2W HIGH POWER BULBS 194 168 158 | 1 PAIR - Forward Style - 6K White LED - 194 - 168 - 158 LED - Miniature Wedge Base - Bulb Number

Extremely bright!
