Question Exhaust sound

I was wondering what exhaust sound everybody on here likes ? I'm not sure if I want to change stock or leave it alone ,I have a roadster only had the top down once so far sounded louder with top down (stock) I don't want it to be to loud because I had A z06 with SLP Loudmouths on it and my wife hated it said it gave her a headache (reason I sold car she never wanted to drive in it ) So I don't want to make car have A drone sound on highways , but I might want A little more sound . Intrested in what you guys think ! Thanks

I too have a roadster, and personally I like the sound of the stock system when the top is down. maxcichon has ( I think ) Magnaflow cat-back, and while it sounds a lot meaner than mine ( and he likes it ), it is a bit too loud for me.
As you will find stated often on this forum, "To each, his own"

OK, sounds like you may be trading in cars until your Mrs likes it. So, thinking you wish to stay married, buy her her car and MOD the hell out of the XF to your hearts content. If she doesn't like it, let her follow you. I am not going to get into the two car argument or the headaches, nope not me, never! Good luck, you'll need it!

Hey Keev,
You didn't say what model you have. I deleted the AMG muffler on my SRT6 and it sounds great when you are getting on it. Sounds normal otherwise...no droning.

Ex z06 owner here as well. These little motors have a European sound. Nothing like the Bow tie. I have yet to change my exhaust because I have yet to find that sound I like. And I have been to a lot of car get togethers. Drive it for awhile and hook up with others before you make the plunge.
If you can't wait. Syfi has the closest thing to the sound I prefer and easy mod.

try a muffler delete. You can cut if off and drive it around st see if you like it.
If not you can just sleeve it and put it back on. If you like it without it you can have just make a pipe and weld your stock tips to it...

We have had the combination of rear cat delete, resenator delete and both on our srt's. The cat delete is nice if you just want some low growl, the resenator gives it a lot more sound, a deep growl with a little drone but my fiance doesnt mind so it cant be too bad. The cat and resenator delete is good if its a race car and your a single guy, loud raspy and a lot of drone

If you do the rear cat and /or the resonator delete, I have heard that replacing the H pipe with an X pipe reduces the drone alot. Here's a pic of my "Wicked Flow" exhaust tip I installed after the muffler delete. The muffler delete also takes off a large amount of weight from the rear.

Just put a need swing intake on it so you can hear the supercharger better. Leave the stock exhaust alone
