Default EC Pulley arrived yesterday! These are the instructions I'm following, advice?

Thanks again for everything forum! I'm going to follow the Code3 Pulley instructions here under the SRT-6 heading. The only difference being instead of using a wedge and block of rubber, I'm going to use a strap wrench (whatever that thing is called that you can use on round things to wrench them). Any advice before I go muck something up?

Otherwise I'm waiting for the weather to gain a few more degrees and maybe my stepfather to get home, he's the mechanically inclined one lol. Then it's off to order my CAI!

Those are the instructions I followed. 2 things I think worth mentioning are these
  1. Have 2 breaker bars handy, 1 for loosening the belt (via the tensioner) and 1 for loosening the bolt that holds the pulley on. I wasn't able to get the breaker bar off of the tensioner because it would wedge itself against the frame rail when no load was placed on it.
  2. Get another person to help you reinstall and torque the bolt because it's gonna be pain in the **** trying to hold the strap wrench and get the proper torque reading at the same time

For smaller size bolts most car shops around tighten them with the wrench until they strip out, then they back them off 1/2 of one turn. WDY

Friday, weekend yeah

That's exactly why I'm learning to do things myself. Otherwise this whole thing is on hold until my E11 bit comes in. Score another one for Amazon Prime. But i see how it's done and I'm confident that with the right tools and an extra set of hands this really is an easy job.

Seriously you should give all the pullies a spin to see that they are in good condition and check the belt. Its really easy to change when the belt is off, so give it a look see also. Woody

I'm just going to order a belt and replace it since it's off. I couldn't find an E11 ANYWHERE, so ended up ordering off Amazon. Hopefully, I'll have everything together by Wednesday. Any thoughts on how best to get my ECU to adjust until I get everything done and tuned?

E11 goes on the tensioner pulley, i promise.

SUCCESS! I can see why they say this is a ten minute job. It took me a bit over an hour because i couldn't get the bolt off the sc pulley until i used am impact wrench lol. Butt dyno says it's faster. I can't wait to order my CAI and get it tuned...

I just changed the belt and pulleys on an SRT-6 ... and I can assure you that an E10 fit (properly) .

Now I wont say that your tensioner is not E11, but I will say that you can fit an E11 on an E10.

Glad to hear about your success with the SC pulley install ... that is a mod that you will definitely enjoy !

Cheers,
Chris

Weird. The e10 wouldn't fit and the 12 wouldn't turn. Either way, it's $4 off Amazon if you need it. It's weird the inconsistency in cars.

I love the pulley...can't wait for everything else. Had a buddy tell me "twelve seconds isn't that fast" while driving his SRT4 Caliber...i just chuckled. I know it won't be low twelve but I'll take whatever i get

How about some clown put a T-45 tamper-proof bolt on my tensioner, thereby not allowing me to swap pulleys at the moment!
