Default Conv deck lid hard to open and close

The deck lid on my SRT convertible is very very stiff. Hard to lift open and hard to close. Anyone know how to ease the tension on the struts to make it a little easier to open and close??
Thank you

First, take both struts off and see if the problem is in the hinge mechanism, or the struts.
If it is the struts, replace them.
If the hinge mechanism, try some lithium grease on all the moving points.

Pulled the struts and still very stiff. Lubed up the hinges and all is well.
Thank you

I wish I would have lubed my hinges. I thought they were made to operate 'stiff' one of the rivest/pivots broke. New 75.00 hinge!
