Airbag light on
Airbag light came on. Went to CarMax for oil change coolant replaced but they could not diagnose why light came on. Went to dealer close by, 1) crossfire mexhanic not there. 2) will have to leave car for a couple of days to diagnose problem, hard to do. 3) might need new computer or new bags!!! Have moved on the dealer #2 but can not get in until this Friday. Should I contact Mercedes dealer??

There is only ONE reason to take a Crossfire to a dealer, and that is to trade it in for another car.
Of course, selling it privately takes a bit more time, but will net you more money....

I haven't read much on this issue on Crossfires, but on other cars, the clockspring was the culprit (I have done 2 myself, pretty easy on some cars). And I think you may need to go to a dealership, at least to have them read the body codes for the cause, but you may be able to repair easily yourself.
Back from the dealer. The mechanic was able to read all modules accept the airbag. They wanted me to leave the car they thought maybe the module needs to be replaced I said no. My gut is telling me a mouse might have chewed the wires. We do have problems with mice in the garage. Where to now, Mercedes??
I had the same issue several months ago. I hope yours is not the same issue but it sound just like mine.
I ended up having to have the airbag control module replaced and they are not cheap. After shopping quite a bit I found one for $1,300 which was absurd but better than the $1,800 the dealer wanted for it.
I found a couple of used ones but no guarantee that they worked. That fixed that problem at 62,000 miles.
I had a rash of electrical problems over a six month period and finally dumped the car. Hope you have better luck.
