My Crossfire Chapter is Closing
Well, I just got off the phone with the buyer, and it looks like Saturday will be my last day as a Crossfire owner. The Crossfire was the first dream car I ever bought. It lived up to all my expectations and then some. It will be sad to hand the keys over and see her drive away.
Even though I haven't been driving my Crossfire or active on the forum since I moved to New Mexico, I'm still sad that I have no Crossfire Tail of the Dragon visits on the horizon and will no longer have membership into such a great group of high-caliber and genuinely good people.
Thank you all for your help, advice, and support. This forum made Crossfire ownership extraordinary. I wish everyone on here, even if we've never met, the best of luck in all endeavors!

Alex,
I will always remember, Fall Dragon on Monday morning, running with you thru the Hell Bender and the Dragon. Morning was cool and sunny. Colorful leaves blowing around the shape of your sparkling, georgeous, graphite coupe.
One of my favorite moments in a CrossFire.
God's speed my friend, sorry to see you leave us.

Hay you can;t go !!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! LOL Good luck , and you can still come the Dragon meets , we still let Franc come, lol
Alex,
As others have stated, great to meet you and running with you at the Dragon. I hope the new owner appreciates the car as much as you did. Is the buyer NM based?

Alex, (like Franc) I too won't forget the fun we had on the Hell Bender on a Saturday evening.
Don't be a stranger, once a Crossfire owner, You're always welcome at any GTG. Heck, you don't even have to be a Crossfire owner to be welcome.lol
Take Care.

I'm the guy who got beat on eBay for your car. I hope that it ends-up in a good home as it was going to sit next to a Challenger SRT8 at my place.
On a positive note, I just purchased a 2005 SRT6 with 14,000 miles on it from a gentleman in Illinois. It's the same color as my Challenger and 1/2 the distance to pick it up so I guess everything works out like it's supposed to. Tell the guy that beat me for your car that I'll race him for a beer someday.

It was a pleasure to meet you and spend time together at the Dragon GTG's
As many have said here the sale of your Crossfire doesn't mean you need to leave your friends here.
You are always welcome at any Crossfire meet and I hope to have the pleasure to see you at one again in the future.
Your are a wonderful guy and someone I consider a friend.
My best to you always and don't be a stranger now OK
Gary

Alex, we met years ago when you came to DFW for one of our events. It was a pleasure getting to meet you. All the best my friend. - Dan

Alex, it appears you have put together an impressive stringer of friends. Some of us are a little smellyyes, but overall a fine kettle of fish.
Keep us in mind once in a while, and check in.
Here's to ya!

Thanks! I'm in Omaha, NE. This is the second car in my SRT collection and my plan is to collect one of each model. The Crossfire is definitely going to be the hardest one to get so I'm happy to get such a nice one.
The Crossfire I'm buying was originally purchased by a car collector in Illinois and he passed away in 2011. His neighbor bought it from the estate but he and his wife are moving to Texas and won't have room for it. The only modifications made were some minor engine and suspension changes by a place called Renntech down in Florida. I've never heard of them but I guess they are big into Mercedes so hopefully they did some good stuff to it.
I'm flying out to pick it up on Saturday and drive it back to Omaha. I attached a few pictures if you want to take a look (my apologies to Alex for high-jacking his thread, I'm guessing there is probably a separate area for new guys to post this kind of stuff).

Thank you all for the kind words!
Franc, that final drive as we left the Dragon seemed to go in slow motion, like something out of a car commercial, and was definitely a perfect way to end a perfect weekend of driving. BTW, I have a bottle of your "Blinker fluid" displayed in my office, right next to rockets and satellites. It gets 10x more comments than its neighbors. :-)
Itsky, it went to a Mopar enthusiast in Corpus Christi, TX - Too bad it's leaving Mountain Time, but I'm confident it's in good hands.
+fireamx, chasing you through the Hellbender was probably the hardest I've ever pushed my limits in a vehicle! What a rush!
Squeek, an SRT8 Challenger friend in the garage? The guy that won the auction is a Viper guy and has an SRT8 Charger. They all complement each other nicely: V10 insanity, big V8 muscle, and zippy V6 agility. I quoted your challenge for a beer & sent him a link to this thread. :-)
Cheers, everyone! I'll drop in from time to time! Here is the last photo I took of my baby before it left for TX. Hopefully it finds its way back to the Dragon some day!
