SRT6 is not disappointing!
So just to comment about recent occurrences for me.. while on the road tonight I was on the tollway when a brand new 392 Jeep gets up next to me and we get on it up to about 110-115 and held its ground well. Also, about a month ago went up against the 392 Charger near my area that had done a tune, intake, and exhaust and stayed right there with him!
I know we are lighter than both obviously but I feel pretty damn proud for my 2005 SRT6 with only a few small upgrades to have stayed right there even pulling on them slightly and it is almost 2014!! Love these cars!

Well. That is the one thing that is bothering me right now. They were ahead of their time but time is now catching up and those of us that have pushed them to the max are now seeing new cars pass them by stock.
This is all true and the cars are going to be getting faster all the time... Just got to try and keep with the times... And sooner or later though we will be surpassed.. Nothing we can do...
Oh they are still fast for sure. In 2005 they would out run just about anything with little modding. They were not out dated platforms and that still holds true today. They are a classic for what they are. I'm keeping mine but just watching the improvements lately to 4 cylinders and a few turbo'd 8 s. It's amazing the times they are making.
I have a SRT6 with 5300 miles. I only drive it once or twice a month. There are faster cars, but what's it matter. There are faster cars then a new Corvette. What you have with these cars is a unique looking car that not everyone else has. Good looking, decent mileage, great performer, etc. These cars may be respected in the future. Too bad they were automatic only. Similar to the Porsche 928, although some had manuals. In ten years, people will say, "whats that."
Was in a drive through the other day, and when I pulled up to the window the guy inside said "Nice car! I have always liked those Pontiac Crossfires!" (face palm)
I politely explained he was half right and we chatted about it for about 5 minutes (it was late and I was the only one in line). Nice guy

I have been a muscle car guy all my life. I have had some cars with over 650 RWHP pulling 10's in 1/4 mile.
You have to understand there is always someone out there faster. I don't care. The car is peppy enough for me as it is.
I have a 2004 NA and really like it.
Why? A combination of really distinct beautiful styling, build quality, handling, and power in a small sports car. It's really different then most anything else out there.
I am not out to be the fastest guy around. I was at the car wash this week getting some small dents removed by the paintlless dent remover guy and a couple of guys in their lat 20's early 30's came up and commented what a nice car I had. They both really liked it and wanted to know more. They had heard of the car by name but that's all they knew. I popped the hood and one guy knew right away he was looking at a Mercedes engine. "What" he exclaimed. I then told him all about the car and its heritage and components. They were both amazed that such an animal existed. As they walked away one said to the other "That's a really cool car man, I may have to check out getting one.
That's what I love about this car. I love driving something beautiful and different, not seen every day and appreciated by most all car guys and gals. I ask you what's not to like?
Drive on!
