Value of SRT-6 Roadster
I sold my SRT-6 black coupe in the early part of this year. It only had 20,000 miles on it with 15 months of the Extra Care warranty left. Well now I want an SRT-6 convertible with reasonably low mileage. What kind of price does one currently have to pay for a nice low mileage unit.
I'd say your target SRT6 roadster would be selling for anywhere between about $16,000 and $21,000 (Itsky got an exceptional deal on his). This rare low mileage example just recently sold for $21,000+

PS FYI - the rear window glass will eventually become detached on ALL of the 2005 roadsters. Chrysler will warranty this issue ONLY if the car was originally delivered in a few specific southern states (irrational and irrelevant to the reality of the manufacturing defect but that is Chrysler's position). Try to check out that situation before you buy a 2005 roadster (find out where the car was originally delivered) because you'll be looking at a minimum of $1400.00 to purchase and install a replacement top if you buy a roadster that will not have this issue covered by Chrysler.
If you don't end up buying this particular car, please PM me and put me in contact with the owner . . . I may well be interested in it.

13,200 was a steal...no doubt about it. Those deals don't come around very often. If you like it, buy it. There aren't roadsters for sale very often. Besides, you can offer them less and let them set on it for awhile. It's winter time, so prices on roadsters and convertables are usually down this time of year.
I can't offer them any less because he already moved down 2K! The car did not come out of the south so any top issues won't be covered. What is the best procedure for inspecting the top to make sure it is okay? I did pretty well last February when I sold my coupe with 20,000 miles on it for $17,500 so I guess $17K for a roadster isn't all that bad. Like you said, low mileage roadsters are becoming harder to get a hold of and when someone has one they aren't about to give it away unless they don't know any better.
I don't think there is a way to REALLY know. Mine was perfectly fine. And then just a few weeks after receiving the extended warranty letter from Chrysler, it started falling in after one day of sitting out in the hot sun.
I just bought this one on eBay (as referenced below) for about $21k. It is flawless with only 10,794 miles on it. With the limited number of graphite srt-6 roadsters, I think it was a deal.
I saw that car on ebay and did call the owner to see if he would give me a buy it now price, but he wouldn't and I wasn't in a position to watch the auction. I ended up buying a black SRT roadster that is in Georgia. It has 79,000 miles on it but I talked to the owner that traded it in on a BMW IS and he said it had been a great car for him and he just put 4 new tires on it. It had the back window glass fixed under warranty. I am not a collector and I won't be driving it but 3 or 4k miles a year like I did when I had my SRT coupe. Best part is the dealer just took it in on trade last Thursday and had it priced at $9837! Summer time here I come!

You moved VERY fast, sir. I got the autotrader alert on Saturday night, called them Sunday and got some nim-nod sales guy who didn't know anything and could not be bothered.
Called at noon on Monday and was told there was a deposit on it.
But they ALSO told me it was "Gray" - I found out later, that was not true - so it wasn't the car I thought it was after all!
Read his post again - that car SOLD for just over $21,000
I am the guy that got it. I had thought it was gray when I read the listing but it was actually referring to the interior color. I did put a deposit on it as soon as I got a hold of them. They said that they had a ton of inquiries about it. They didn't even have pics of it and it took them until Tuesday to get them. Since they were willing to refund the deposit if there turned out to be any problems with it, it was a no brainer for me. My SRT was black and this being black was okay with me.
C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ! IMHO you bought a virtually brand new $52,000 SRT6 roadster for $21,000.00. I think that's a reasonable deal . . . ENJOY!

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S to you too Ron, I've never heard of anyone getting an SRT6 roadster for under $10,000. There are a lot of fun miles still ahead on that one. You did GREAT!
