Default spark plugs and wires

Needswings has spark plugs & wires on sale for blackfriday. Has anyone changed their spark plugs and wires or still running stock ones. I have stock ones with 60k and don't see a problem with them. Is it a waste of money. Stock ones are just fine. Thanks.

I changed my spark plugs to I guess oem bosch but I bought needswing wire from a member here. They look pretty nice. Changing plugs were bit harder than I thought but I did get it done within a day time. The back ones two are hard to change.

I'm still running with OEM plugs with 87,000 miles and it runs so smooth and strong I just don't see the need to replace them.
Anyone..... please feel free to tell me your thoughts here
.
Should I be getting new ones soon and why ??

I'd take them out, inspect and then clean and regap them if they look OK.

Why waste money on something that makes little difference (if any) if there is no misfiring. Plugs last much longer with electronic ignition, not like the old days when the electrodes could get eroded away and a bus could pass through the gap. Damp wires could look like a firework display when the rubber was cracked.

Regap them properly as that centre electrode is really delicate, break it and it's toast.

I had the same concerns and discussed spark plugs with a lot of members at the last Dream Cruise & Dragon. General consensus was that changing plugs at the factory recommended 5yr/100K milestone might be a good idea to prevent the plugs from seizing in the heads. Something to do with dissimilar metals?
Haven't done mine yet, but will get the plugs & wires from Rob when I do.

if your plugs/wires are still in good shape and you have a very smooth idle then you should not need to change them with low miles. the factory plugs are awesome plugs on the srt6, the na's plugs are pretty good too. we do see oem wires go bad though. coilpacks are pretty bulletproof.

the magnecor wires we use are thicker than the oem wires and also less expensive, that is a double win there. I would prefer if they were not red but its not a deal breaker for me. actually if there was enough interest i'm sure we could get magnecor to make them in another color, or just slip boots over them.

anyways, as for today (black Friday), we have them on sale cheaper than we ever have and most likely ever will so if you want them for the parts stockpile then now is the time.
