Ground Control kits are ready!!!
I got an e-mail from Donovan yesterday telling me that everything is ready and that he'd TRY to get the website update going "by Friday or Monday". I asked him if links are part of the kit, etc. Waiting to hear back from him. This is all great news for the R-170! And thanks once again Justin, Les, and TommyT.
The Crossfire conversion kit consists of the springs and everything needed to mount them. The kit uses 2.5" ID springs in the front and 2.25" ID springs in the rear. Nothing more is included in the BASIC kit that I know of. The shocks cost extra and vary according to if it's a race shock, street shock etc. Koni makes a large variety. The links cost x amount extra for each link. They're are 4 links per side in the rear or 8 in all. I got them all, because race car. The adjustable sway bar links are also extra. 2 in all. I know what I paid but not if what I paid is the final price or not.
OK - Thanks for the responses . . . so each of the three Ground Control kit options include four shocks and four coil springs that will replace all four of the OEM shocks AND all four of the OEM springs, right? Just different spring ratings and different shock stiffness in each of the three kits, right?
Where do those curved adjustable rear camber arms (shown in the photo Les posted) come in? Are those just available / sold separately from the kits?
Can someone please post photos of the Ground Control Suspension INSTALLED on their car? I think that would help me understand the conversion that the kits provide.

THANKS for posting those photos Les . . . I'm getting a little clearer understanding now . . . (still not crystal clear but at least a little clearer). Pretty stuff!
Great looking car and stance Les. The new setup is clearly a must have for those that track their car. I look forward to your continued updates.
Track rubber is mounted and the car is ready. All I need is confirmation from the track owner that I can play tomorrow. I expect some adjustments will be needed. I hope for a personal best. But, you never know. Maybe I'll be a pu??y until I have confidence in the new suspension. Or a lion. It's all about confidence and predictability. No stupidity anticipated.

It uses springs for coilover conversions on other vehicles.
But on the Crossfire, it does not convert it to a coilover setup.
Yes the spring kit will make it height adjustable.
See Les' pics...
Les, the stance looks awesome! As you know, I have the same wheels just a different color. What size tires do you have? I have 285/35 rear and 245/35 front.
245/35 and 275/35. For a while I had 255's in front and 285's in the rear. More changes could occur depending on how the car reacts to the G/C suspension on the track.

18x9 30 offset front and 18x10 25 offset rear. I've used a 5mm spacer in the rear recently with the 25 offset so some room still exits to the outside. I think it's possible to have a square setup. 30 ET with 18x9 and 255's on all four corners. The 255's will fit the front IF you roll the fenders. The Stoptechs are 355x32 rotors, ST-40 Calipers (4 piston). Plenty of room with the Forgestars but the stock wheels require 5mm spacers to clear the calipers.

trying hard to buy these camber arms. emailed the folks on the link in the other thread. waiting impatiently for a response. If someone at GC reads this post, please PM me to do business.
Donovan has always responded to my e-mails, but it's best to just call him. Their # is (530)677-8600. It is my understanding that the few camber arms that they had done, have already been shipped out and they are awaiting for the next batch from powder coat.
Les-
Keep up the flow of great information. I am holding off purchasing until we get some more data/impressions.
Plus I still have to install the C32 calipers and RB brakes I have sitting in the garage.

I really don't know what their hold up is getting it listed on their site.
I have ordered sway bar links only from them (called them), and they provided prompt service, and I'm happy w/ the links. Maybe they are waiting for further feedback from the track and want to know that everything is bullet proof first? Don't know.

Once Ground Control sells you a part they have great communication. I believe the holdup is the camber arms. I'm still experiencing contact between the camber arms and sway bar on big dips. It's less than the K&W's and stock camber arms but still happening. They are aware of it and from what I was told, deciding on the best way to fix it. Perhaps designing a part that will work at stock ride height as well as a 2" drop is harder than we think.
