Default SRT6 shopping

I have a 2004 NA six speed (36K) and started thinking about a low mileage SRT6. (I just missed out on a mint GT500 Shelby that someone literally gave away because I hesitated a day thinking about how I would get it back home - 2009, 7K for 24K, stock full loaded with no accidents and not even a scratch).

I started checking and reviewing used SRT6s and found some with very low mileage and reasonable prices. Every one however had automatics ----- over the life of the SRT6 production did Chrysler never release a manual SRT6 version? That's hard to believe but I find no old records showing any reference to it even in the last year of production.

All SRT6s have automatic transmissions

True, oledoc. Both my AMG's are autos, and they seem to do just fine. In fact, I think even Ferrari doesn't even have a stick anymore.

Well that was a downer..and a wasted night trying to locate one in all the online sales...Half the fun of driving the Xfire comes from speed shifting the gears just before the rev limiter cuts out. I can't see myself going from a manual to an auto in this car and I'm no longer into swapping out trannys. I'll have to keep looking for something.

I would guess about 60 to 70 percent of the SRT6 owners would have chosen a six speed, I would also guess most are not unhappy with what they have. It's a great transmission with a console paddle shift. You should test drive an SRT6 before you go shopping for something else, you may be surprised, in fact, I'm guessing you will.
