engine squeak
Help please!!!On start up (first of the day) I hear sqeaking from the engine. I found it seems to be around the s/c clutch. It does not change as engine speed is changed. Is that a bearing or lube problem? I am not sure if it is lubricated by oil or is it just a grease bearing? I haven't been able to see anything on the repair manual to tell what I need.

I don't think I can be of much help, but if some of the smart members come along, they might want to know some more info, such as:
How long does the squeaking last?
Does it squeak when driving or only while idling?
You say it happens "first of the day", so does that mean on a cold engine? So it doesn't happen when the engine is warm?
How old is your belt? Do you notice any abnormal wear?
Have you removed your belt and turned all of the pulleys by hand to see if you can make the sound or feel abnormal resistance?
Has you engine been modified with a smaller S/C pulley or a belt saver kit?

If the squeaking sound does not change with RPM, but does seem to go away as the engine warms up, then try unplugging the electric smog pump mounted on the driver side fenderwell on the SRT6. Could be this.
The car will run fine with it unplugged, but won't pass smog inspection.

I have about 98K on my Xfire and it started squeaking recently. Turns out that it was one of the pulleys. The dealership told me that it was the alternator (They used a stethoscope to track it down). So I changed that out. Still squeaked. Argh!
Then I took it back in to them and they figured out that it was the tension pulley and they replaced it free since I was out the money on my alternator.
Check those out and let us know what you find.
