Default SRT Mechanics in N Y - Advice

Hello

Dose anyone know of knowledgeable SRT mechanic in the New York area. I live in the Bronx.
My 3 season DD ride (AeroBlue SRT6) just hit 100K. I took her through a car wash, something I rarely do, and afterwards I let the guys clean the inside. Time comes to leave, I start her but can't get her out of PARK. Then the CHECK ENGINE light went on. Using my pen in the gear change slot I was able to override the lock out but once in DRIVE I could not get her out of limp mode. Took it to the nearest repair shop. We checked all the fuses - no problem. But when we looked for codes via OBD port the mechanic said he could not establish a connection to the computer. FYI the Dash gear indicator shows a dark rectangle.
My search of our site for causes uncovered a multitude of potential problems. That is why I rather take her to someone who has been down this road before.
Thanks for your help!

Paul

I reached out to Vinnie by phone and he was able to quickly identify the problem with my SRT. He said, "all you have to get is a used ( or new) shifter mechanism and I will install it for you". My problem is when I asked him to describe in more detail what exactly I will be looking for he in terms of part 3 etc., he repeated "shifter mechanism". Can anyone steer me in the right direction where i can find this or if I need more details regarding this part? My online search for "srt6 shifter mechanism" did not turn up anything
Thanks
PAulius

Did a little more research and found part # 5114036AA (gearshift control). Discounted, I can buy it for $1400+ ( assuming VInnie is right that this is the problem part in question) I am considering bringing it to a dealership and see what codes come up - Just trying to avoid being taken for a ride.....

Hey Vinnys
Thank, that was the first thing I addressed when this problem started. I put one in and it did not make a difference

Following Robby's suggested lead i asked the ebay seller of the 05-60 Shifter Mechanism if it is the right part for an SRT6. The sellar could not confirm. Does anyone know if the base crossfire and the srt6 use the same shifter mechanism?
Thanks

They are the same according to the 2005 parts manual, part number 05114036AA.
Fits EGX ( non-SRT6) and EGZ (SRT6)
