Default Intake Manifold Cleaning

I've been wanting to install an oil catch can on my srt6 but i feel that i should clean the intake manifold and throttle body at the same time. Is it possible to clean both pretty well without removing and disassembling? From what i've read, chemicals like seafoam, bg, and other cleaners don't do much of anything and are basically a waste of money. Also, is there a diy manifold cleaning guide on this forum?

I took one of the intake plenums off and it was really clean, just a little oil on the gasket, it was not worth cleaning off. My car had about 22,000 miles on it at the time.
Others had a terrible mess in there, but I do not know how many miles they had done at that time.

Good thread. I still have not installed my NW oil catch can yet and need to do so here soon.

Is the intake manifold fairly easy to take off, or is there a lot involved? I know its not needed to come off for catch can install. Was just curious

6 bolts and 1 clamp holding the srt6 IM's on the car, you will want new gaskets to reinstall them. you can clean them out with a can of brake cleaner fairly easily assuming they are the oem uncoated manifolds
