Looking to bite the bullet on my journey to go 65/181 - so I want to start loging my AFR's.
I currently only use torquepro for my engine loging. Dont really want to go Zetronix.


So I'm just looking for;
1) a dash AFR gauge I can mount discretely....
2) a good well priced probe
3) best location for the bung....
....links/photos appreciated
I might even get 2 bungs fitted, one in each pipe - EGT's might be worthwhile for future reference.

I am really curious about your outcome. After a lot of research, I determined the "safe" limit was 70mm with the 181 so I certainly hope you don't lose your SC.

 

I agree with Jim, you will be out of the SC's efficient range. PLX devices makes one of the quality AFR's out there, very accurate and does not bounce all over the range. Good Luck! My O2 is just before the first cat.

 

Yes - that's possibly true, however how much time do you really spend up there...?
I'm not an autocrosser or a regular tracker - I'm looking for road performance.
The thrill of acccelerating up a back street hill at full tilt is where it's at for me.
I'm looking for 1st and 2nd gear performance in the 2-5000 rpm range.


Although I WOT - most of the time - its very difficult for me to even redline in 2nd gear (65mph).
3rd gear redline (107mph) is a very rare event.

 

with the zeitronix you can use your windows laptop for the display when you want it and then only bring the laptop when you want to view/record. or one of their small tweaker board display would slip in somewhere small with a little fab. you also get RPM and TPS in there for the low low cost of a couple pieces of wire to connect them.

 

I use a PLX Devices sensor and gauge for about $175. I will try pics.

They make so many styles I will check for a box, most differences are gimmicks. I can check the battery voltage with mine! Same red control box though. I have used PLX devices for over 15 years. Very high quality. With the software E/C provides we car datalog but it is slow to react showing high boost only at high rpm's not at 3000rpm when it should show full boost to my knowledge of SC's.
Mine is a digital read out and I don't think mine shows vacuum. They are all good units, just want the latest one and I think that is what i have and will confiirrn tomorrow during the day. mrk Did you get the link to the injectors I bought? Price nearly doubled but they are Bosch and have the slots to accept the clips should you choose tom use them. As I have stated my O-rings were almost shot, very stiff and ready to crack. When you get to that stage let me know and i will let you know what i ran into changing nthe inj's, mark

Yeah, no gauge, I missed that but still would go with a PLX. A friend bought a cheap AFR and the numbers bounce all over the board. I checked my records and I paid $170. but had to wait quite a while to get it of stock. Must be several on ebay that have everything.
