Eurocharged TCU
Eurocharged TCU
Well ...
I got the eurocharged TCU in today .
I have not had much time driving with it but so far, 50kms, I am very happy with it.
Shifts are firmer and faster in either Manual (w) or S modes
Just cruising around in S (auto) the shifts are smooth and gentle but give some stick and the shifts get firmer.
I like the way it auto shifts up at redline in W manual mode .
the display now shows 5 instead of D for fifth too
I will be using the manual mode alot more now that the shifts are quicker.
paddle shifters would be awesome now but no ,Next is the wavetrac.

Re: Eurocharged TCU
gday Billy22bob !
No , i did not have to have the ECU tuned to accept the new Tcu.
i am using the new tuned Tcu with the original eurocharged tune on the ECu.
But, I am presently waiting for Jerry to send a new tune for my Ecu as i now dont have rear cats and theres a big x-pipe in place of them since the last tune. Hopefully Jerry can get some more powerout with this new tune.

Ps , OT but i ran 2 tanks with Techron 5000 in and it actually does feel better!.
I want to try some Seafoam cleaner in it too now .

Re: Eurocharged TCU
Not familiar with EC's tuning of the TCU. I know you can change the parameters of the shift. Different pressures and such. I am trying to get mine to work correctly now. It was tuned for high pressure shifts, but I didn't change out my valve body with the higher pressure shifting solenoids. So they think that is my problem. Waiting to see if that is the case.
Re: Eurocharged TCU
Interesting - previously I thought it was a requirement the TCU and ECU be flashed - maybe a new bunch of code....or the first EC ECU program was accommodating already.

I have heard that the Blue tops make the shift way too hard so i left well alone.
Re: Eurocharged TCU
Dave, exactly why I haven't went that route yet. Not ruling it out, but I would like to test at the track first. I can't do that if it won't shift...lol. Hopefully a minor set back. If we get it working, then I will look at the solenoids. It isn't a hard project, but need to be tedious and clean...
