Technical Expert
I'm in Sanford FL - 2005 SRT-6 Coupe - Where can i find a top-line technician in this area that knows these cars. If I'm cruising at highway speed and accelerate hard, sometimes the supercharger just ain't there (no *****); other times totally normal. When this intermittent issue occurs the trans kicks down to the next appropriately lower gear- but it's like there's nothing there but an over-revving engine with no torque/boost.
From a standing start with a wide open throttle, the problem never shows up. It's only sometimes at cruise speeds in excess of 25 mph that this "no *****" situation sometimes occurs. I just need to find a decently qualified expert in the Orlando/Sanford/Daytona area that i can count on to properly diagnose and mechanically maintain this vehicle when **** goes wrong. I don't mind paying "boutique pricing" as long as I'm getting "boutique value".
This vehicle is essentially "showroom" and I would prefer to keep it that way. Please advise!

If you look thru some of the sticky's on here for fixes, you will find one about the pump failing that supplies cooling for the supercharger. If it is failing, it will tell the supercharger to quit working until the temps go back down. So the 'air intake sensor' could be bad or the coolant pump could be bad. The pumps fail if original. Easy fix. Less than a 100 bucks. Rarely is it the sensor, but I did have one fail on the roadster. I would replace the coolant pump first. I buy my parts from Needswings.com. If you are near Chuk, he will have no problem fixing your car. Less than a half hour.

You're very fortunate to have the expertise of Chuck so close to Sanford. I don't believe there is anyone else that close who is so knowledgeable with our Xfires. Hat's off and good luck, it's probably something minor. Using the slapstick to assure "kick down" has overcome this problem for me, however, the coolant pump advise is good to keep in mind as well.
It is too hard to diagnose problems without being there. Sometimes it is the obvious, sometimes it isn't. Conductor plate issues if it isn't shifting? Who knows. Most of the time loss of power intermittent is the dreaded pump issue. Chuk will figure it out. Hands on...
