Vicariously working on the crossfire, TAAA DAAA
I got back from Carlisle and decided to use a rainy day to do a rear and brake check. Put the C up on the lift and decided to check the wheel speed sensors too. I get abs errors now and then, so it was of interest to me.
Rear fluid is clean and thats good considering that I blew the rear on the way to Carlisle couple of years ago. Wavetrack holding its own, nice.
Took to checking the brakes and then the speed sensors, which I put up in the album below. If you wondered where or what they were, see the photos. They are magnetic proximity sensor sensors that pick up pulses from the TONE RINGS on the wheel hub. Several dozen pulses per revolution so you can see the speed and position of the wheels and alert the abs or wheel spin indicator. I was looking for rust and chips that might be responsible for my abs light that comes on here n there.
Take a look and see how its put together and save a trip under your car. I also show the wheel support I first designed when I got the car on 9-11-2007. The wheel tag is for me to keep the 4 sets of wheels together and have the correct length bolts the FIRST TIME saving the rear brakes from hitting the too long bolts.
Enjoy, Woody
