Has the SRT-6 been discontinued??
My srt-6 has the same sort of sound. 1st I thought it was the lifters as well, but now it seems to be more related to the supercharger...I got the same response at dealer...sounds normal to me. I have the extended warranty, and the cars I drove at the srt experience sounded the same as my car.

What doesn't make sense with the supercharger "it's normal" theory is why it is so loud at idle and very low RPM's. Besides there being no load on the supercharger, mine is very rhythmic...too rhythmic...so unless something in the supercharger assembly is clicking, broken, etc. I don't think it's the supercharger itself. My experience is with the C32's which I have drove many...all without any sort of clicking noise noted...

So if the car drives fine why worry about a tick. I've had plenty of new cars that had "ticks" including my 1989 Sterling 827 SLi, which I bought in 90'. That is an Acura Legend motor which was pretty bullet proof and its still running strong almost 15 years tick and all. In fact, I've never put a penny into that car other than oil changes and gas and one timing belt change in 15 years. Maybe everyone is being overly critical. I don't know.

Doubt it. A $50k new car shouldn't tick.
I emailed a dealer about the warranty issue; here's the response...
The standard Crossfire has 3/36,000 bumper to bumper & 7/70,000 powertrain. The SRT'S do not.

Sometimes the solution to a tick like that is to upgrade the ground wires/or just tighten them down.

Couldn't cause the problems stated above...but good guess.
Unfortunately I haven't had my car for a while now since the transmission, which was first just leaking badly, has turned into a transmission failure. Either way I have had my car in and out of the shop over 4 different times now and with 20 and counting days out of service for just this problem.
So currently, I'm working with the state's attorney's office with my "Lemon".
It's an SLK32 AMG...I'd have taken it to a local M/B dealership rather than a Chrysler dealership that's never seen on of these cars in their shop before.
Best of luck though.

Let's get this thread back on track...
Was at Laguna Seca raceway this saturday for the SRT Track Experience. The info that I got from one of the race car instructors in regards to the SRT6 is it has not been discontinued. The MB engine will be replaced a V8 Hemi. However, the SRT-4 will be discontinued.
