I have a question about OEM SRT6 shock absorbers
I have a question about OEM SRT6 shock absorbers
I'm refurbishing a 2005 SSB SRT6 coupe. It had the original shocks and I removed them . . . The fronts were marked V99 and the rears were marked H93.
I have a like new set of OEM shocks from my roadster parts car (the owner changed out the rear shocks to Koni adjustable shocks early in it's life). Those OEM rear shocks off that roadster are marked H55. My question is did the SRT6 coupe and the SRT6 roadster have different OEM shocks. If so, what is the difference between the H93 and the H55 rear shocks. I presume the H55 shock is a bit more stiff but I don't know for sure. Thanks for sharing your experience and expertise . . . Knowing this I wonder how many aftermarket shock and spring mfr's list a spring or shock for SLK and one for SRT6? I have not seen that yet.

Bob
Here's a thread from years ago discussing shocks/springs for the SRT6. If memory is correct, the SRT6 Coupe had the slightly stiffer spring rates/shocks than the SRT6 Roadster. Searched, but couldn't find a thread from 2005 to 2006, when these issues were discussed. The number on the OEM shocks prove the rating difference. I searched under SRT6 shocks/springs.

Hi Dennis, Yes I did some searching too and couldn't find anything definitive. I know that the SRT6 coupe and the SRT6 roadster have slightly different spring ratings. I thought I read that on the forum but can't find it now and don't recall which has the stiffer springs.
I just read through that whole thread at the link you provided. I hadn't read that one before. Thanks . . .

Re: I have a question about OEM SRT6 shock absorbers
My SRT6 shocks were marked ‘SOLD’.
I went with the Koni adjustable, my back thanked me. I have no need for performance from this toy I just want to go from A to B in style and be able to walk when I get there.
Who makes the OEM shocks, maybe their catalogue will be helpful. The numbers are probably just the part number?
Edit
OK the OEM supplier is Sachs. CLICK for their catalogue. See if you can make sense of it.
