Default Larger throttle body

Does a bigger throttle body make sense on a SRT6? I want to say I have heard of people using hellcat throttle bodies on their E55. Wondering if it would make a sizeable difference on a SRT6.
Does anyone have experience?

It comes with a 74mm, same as most of the V8's. The upgrade path on the E55 is to go to a 82mm. It is, at best, an incremental improvement, and fraught with tuning issues. If you were squeezing everything else out of the M112K setup, then maybe this would be a good way forward, but tbh, I am debating on going back to the 74mm on my M113K, due to the tuning issues (research the E55 Hiccup issue).

Thanks nemiro! Always good to hear your input. I know the TB increase is a great mod for our NA but was always wondering why it's not more talked about for our SRTs. Currently got DCAI, 65mm Supercharger Pulley and TCU/ECU tune. So far so good. Cooling upgrades in the future I'm thinking. Maybe ported manifolds...not quite sure how far I wanna go.

Cooling mods you can't go wrong with. After that, you should be looking at the NW exhaust manifolds and other exhaust upgrades (cats).

As far as exhaust upgrades go, what do you have in mind? I like the way my exhaust sounds and rather not straight pipe etc to make it sound differently. What are my options? Thanks!

I’ve just come across this thread, I have a 2006 srt convertible, I got a s/s cat back exhaust made in the uk for £750 which included using the original tails so looks stock the sound is totally different and last week purchased the headers from Needswings ceramic coated being fitted in a weeks time(looking forward to that) after this I’ll be looking at sports cats. Cooling already sorted with the N/Ws large intercooler and isolation kit.

Talking Re: Larger throttle body

I have generated several mods for the crossfire with Rob like the pully saver, super cooler, oil separator, fuel pressure regulator controller, and DCAI and its extension the dual crossover intake mod. In the day I also tried to get 2 throttle bodies to work to increase air flow for more power down low, sadly it was a bust. Ran ok some but bucked, and had fits with the computer rejecting the air flow versus throttle plate opening %. The stocker seems a good match, though Rob has also tried a slightly bigger TB. He is the best resource for info and parts for the Crossy. Enjoy Woody

Hi Woody, Rob as helped me with lots of upgrades on my Xfire there’s not much more I can do without starting to go into the engine but I’m reluctant to go that far, next thing I’m looking to do is upgrade the headlights found a company in the uk just awaiting a quotation.

I had a stock throttle body ported. It runs fantastic at wide open throttle. Take off isn't smooth and it surges when accelerating from a stop or from a steady speed. Not acceptable for a daily driver.

If you find something that works with the headlights, I'd like to know. Thanks.

I put in led lights, with the cooler fans and found them to be ok, buy from amazon so if your choice is not good, you can return them. Woody

I used these from Amazon for the headlights and fogs and haven't had any flickering, error/dtc or fitment issues, greatly improved over the Sylvania ones the previous owner had.

Had an update on headlight upgrade. Found a company who will do dual LEDs and halos plus polish and seal lenses quoting £1300

Rob at Needswings sells PIAA lights for the Crossfire and they work really well throwing out white light far and wide at high beam and they cost a whole lot less than the haloed lights for 1300 pounds. You'll get them in a week. You could at least give then a try. It might be money well spent. If you don't like them I'll buy them from you at the same price Needswings sells them for. I've used them for years.
PS I just noticed your in England; I'm not paying for shipping, Ha Ha
