Default Why reset the throttle body?

I was looking over the "list of resettable" items tonight and the first one on the page is for "resetting the throttle body". Why would I need to do that and what exactly happens?

The throttle response is 'learned', so if you drive like a granny on miralax only sometimes going for the gusto it'll learn the slower responses. Resetting the throttle body clears any learned response and lets it get more responsive (until another learned response). I do mine once a month, there is a difference. Good luck, have fun!

We might as well have how to do the throttle reset along with other resettable options.

Thanks 180, yes this is the list that I was looking at. It describes how to reset it but I did not realize what it did. I have done more research and learned how our cars "learn" our driving habits and respond to it. I'm going to give this a try. Just might be fun. I'm usually pretty easy with the pedal so it will be interesting to feel any difference.

I'm still unclear if the throttle reset is achievable on the 6 speed manual
There isn't the button that clicks when the pedal is fully depressed on the manual trans cars
