Dealer refuses to work on SRT6
Forgive me if this info is already common knowledge.
Both Las Vegas area dealers turned me away today. They said they will still do oil changes but that's about it.
I will visit G&G Autohaus tomorrow and let you know if I recommend them. Good sign -- the gentleman I spoke with there owns a Limited.

Both Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz will not work on our cars. I have to use a Mercedes VIN I found on a car for sale, just to buy parts at MB.
They will screw you out of your money if they can.
I drove my wife to the local Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM dealership to pickup a new truck, the sales guys had heard of Crossfires, but never seen one in real life, and they had never heard of an SRT-6. The car was surrounded by in minutes and the whole time we were there, people gathered around my car. Felt pretty cool.

2005 SRT6 Roadster
and key fob and installed a wind restrictor with a switch for light. So, if anyone knows a good place for service near Cherry Hill, NJ, I would love a referral.
My first encounter with a Chrysler Crossfire was at a dealership where I was having my new car serviced. This beautiful black limited drove in, top-down, in all its glory. It was love at first site. I followed up on this car for several years until I decided what to look for. It took a couple of years to locate, but I found one in CA and had it shipped to NJ. It is a black SRT6 roadster. My biggest issue is where to find a mechanic who knows these cars. I have spent quite a bit since I purchased it because the dealer wasn't honest. I replaced the top (back window cracked), tires, battery, water reserve, wipers,

BTW, I'm up near Fairfield, NJ

I've been fortunate to have a local, independent import shop that has done almost all the work on my 07 Limited Roadster from oil changes to transmission service to replacing the washer fluid tank, to updating all exterior light with LEDs, to the most recent, replacement of the washer nozzles. They knew exactly what I meant when I said I needed B service.
Before anyone pipes up about doing my own work, I'm disabled and limited in bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and have a history of turning seemingly simple projects into utter disasters. So, having a local shop that knows MBs AND Crossfires has been a huge blessing. After all, even Nichelle Nichols' white Crossfire coupe was tended to by these guys.
(Saw her driving it through downtown once several years ago.)

There is no shame in using a reputable independent shop. I think David Whitney was lucky the dealer refused to work on it, especially if it was a Chrysler dealer.
It seems asinine that our cars are so hard to get fixed. Other than the body, it is largely an SLK320/32AMG. I've never had issues getting any of my three Roadsters worked on -but then, I primarily have used Crossfire Tech days to get stuff done - and when I work on the car at home, I have the network of fellow owners who have technical knowledge to fall back on.
When I lived in Cumming, GA, the one guy at GLover's Garage had a wife with a 2003 SLK320, so he knew my car pretty well. I had two of the cars over there maybe twice for some stuff.
NOW: I keep saying it: If you are the person who takes the car to a dealer for EVERYTHING, you should not own a Crossfire. Its that simple.

My long-standing reliable mechanic was a bit out of his depth on this car. I transferred the car to another mechanic and a separate auto-electrician when he couldn't work out why it was throwing codes, and I discovered it was because he left the secondary water pump unplugged. I accidentally found an awesome independent european car workshop when coolant leaked into my oil while I was in another town. The official Mercedes shop refused to touch it, but these guys embraced the car - having worked on them before - which was a relief. I have since learned a lot more about working on the car myself. I'd rather not, but to save money I have to.

I try to do everything myself and have learned quite a lot from the forum and the repair manual. I do however, not trust myself with engine/trans mount. Recently wanted to get those replaced and called 5 European Repair shops near me with the best reviews. It was the first time, I ran into what I read on this forum 3 out 5 refused to work on the SRT.
2 of them said they don't work on them and why would I put a Mercedes engine into a Chrysler? (That was pretty hilarious - I imagined, being a true European tradesman they would know of the Daimler Chrysler era and not think, it's Frankenstein's monster, where I dropped a Merc engine into). The third one was just outright ridiculous. I asked if he knew the car and he said he did. I said, it's the same as an SLK32 AMG and he told me, he also doesn't work on SLKs and can't think of the last time an SLK came through because parts are nearly impossible to find for MERCEDES SLKs....I actually was quite confused if not shocked at that last comment.
