Default Deals in the SF Bay Area?

I ruled out the SRT-6 (price was more than I wanted to spend) a long time ago, but re-visited this forum recently, and noticed that people are posting about getting exceptional deals. Anyone get a mega-discount in the San Francisco Bay Area?

Thanks

If you don't mind buying from out of state try Lone Star Chrysler Jeep. Here's what they were offered me back in Sept 30. Ask for Alan Decorey.

Black Limited Roadster with Navigation - Vin for $29,795 is 1c3an65l35x049224 stock # is 591568,
Black SRT Roadster - Vin for $39,879 is 1c3an75n15x046815 stock # is 591547.

You could also try Carmax. You can have a car transferred to one of their dealerships nearest you. I'm sure you wouldn't mind driving back to Frisco after you buy one from their LA or Vegas dealership.

Just got a 2005 SRT-6 for $35k (new!) at Sunnyvale Chrysler, Jeep Dodge last week. They had one left in silver. That $10k off was all the temptation I needed!

Sounds like there are great deals out of state, but I have a trade in, which kind of limits that option for me. Thanks for the info, though.

WOW! I think $35K would probably but me over the edge too! Bet you had to drag them into that deal kicking and screaming... Thanks for your post...know I know it's theoretically possible.

Didn't have to work at all to get the $10k off. We stopped by, peered in the window of the Crossfires and the sales guy (CY) asks if I'm looking for a Crossfire. I say yes, but not the SRT-6. He says oh yeah? Take $10k off the SRT6's. They also gave me $500 over blue book list for my trade.

Wow! You REALLY lucked out, and on the trade too. I've had some shocking lowball offers on my trade-in...

Guess I need to go pound the pavement and see what's out there. Thanks for your help.

There are ads here in the L.A. area for $10K to $12.5K off 2005 Crossfires at a couple dealerships, and one already told me they'll do $10K off on an SRT6. You can definitely get that deal. Some of the dealers down here have tons of SRT6's left, and there's no way they'll sell them all before 2006 comes around (at which point they'll seem extra old).

I just picked up a SRT6 Roadster in Graphite with all the options including the navigation for $38,200. I picked it up last week in Lodi.

There have been at least a half a dozen brand new SRT-6 coupes sold on EBAY for 30k in the last couple of months. Too bad EBAY doesn't take trades.

I check AutoTrader every day. It does seem like there's a lot of SRT-6 Coupes within a 100 mile radius (and more available on www.chrysler.com inventory search). Although, most of the dealers still have MSRP listed as the price.

But I guess that suggests that the solution might be to pick one or all of the dealers and make an "unreasonable" offer...

Yep, I have a trade-in too. Kinda complicates things...

2 months ago my wife and I bought a 2005 SRT-6 coupe with DVD/nav for $34K at Sunnyvale Chrysler. Traded in a 1999 Saab 9-3 SE convertible. Got a decent deal for the trade in since Saabs are a niche brand that don't have high resale values at trade-in.... I don't think Sunnyvale Chrysler have any more SRT-6's left. Check around in the Fremont/Newark area. You could get one for $32K possibly. Dunno... Ebay did have a couple of hot ones there... But, be careful that you don't get one of the SRT-6's that were used as SRT Track Experience vehicles. Check the mileage and be wary of with >1000 miles on them but weren't yet titled and can be sold as "new" somehow. They will tell you they were "exec" cars thinking that an "executive" drove them... WRONG. They were BEAT on at SRT Track Experience. May give you trouble down the line... See this link on the board as a forewarning for those shenanigans:

Hey Recluse, jump on this one:

For all you Michiganians, this looks like a great deal. Brand new, 98 miles on it, SRT-6 coupe, Buy-it-Now at $28,695. If I didn't already have one, I'd jump this, fly out, and drive it back to CA.

Hi cudaman-

Thanks for the link. That is an absolutely mind-blowing deal. I have a trade-in though.

Otherwise, a flight to and a road trip back from Michigan sounds like good fun, to say the least...

If your trade-in is in good shape, consider selling it outright. Generally, a dealership will screw you out of your trade at any point, in any way. I had a Chrysler dealer offer us $3,500 for 1999 Saab 9-3 SE convertible in generally good shape. They will STEAL your trade. I often walk out at that point, never to return. We got nearly 3 times that amount at the dealership where we bought our SRT6. And Saabs are a "niche" brand that even Saab won't buy back for very much. Best if you have time is to sell the trade outright. For the money you save on the above SRT-6, you could get it, finance the whole thing with some decent down payment, then apply the sales price of your Ebay or outright sale to the outstanding balance of the loan to lower the amount due on the loan. Then, refinance the loan (now reduced by your trade-in car amount) to get a lower interest rate... The dealer will also try to get you into a 9% loan... If you plan on refinancing (which we did instantly), go ahead and let them talk you into that 9% loan and just get the price down. Within a month pay off the high interest loan, and use either your home equity line-of-credit (interest is deductible, but rates have climbed immensely) or refinance through a credit union which has 5% simple interest loans... Give it a shot. Maybe the Michigan guys will deal with that. Don't let them go a nickel above that though.
