Default Any interest in Meguiar's Detailing Clinic in SoCal?

I'm sort of a nut job when it comes to detailing my cars and am a regular at Meguiar's Thursday Night Open Garage sessions, but Meguiar's also offers Saturday clinics to car clubs. Yeah, you sit through a Powerpoint presentation first, but they supply the coffee & donuts in the morning, pizza at lunch time, and they show you how to properly detail a vehicle either by hand or by machine. There is no cost to attend and you do walk out with a far better understanding of what it takes to properly maintain your cars finish, along with a goody bag of full sized products (not little tiny samples).

I know these guys pretty well and can set up a session for us, but I'm curious if there would be enough interest from the SoCal group (or anyone else wishing to drive to SoCal for the session!). So, anyone interested?

Damn Californians have all the fun.

You never get corporate support like that out here in the EAST!

I'll hold one if Meguiar's supplies the materials...(not likely).

I assume this would be in Irvine. I'm about 100 miles from there, so depending on the time and date I might be able to make it.

You're a cheap date, huh?!

I get the distinct feeling we likely won't have enough people for anything approaching a full class, but quite often the Saturday classes have several openings and we might be able to share with another group. While I sort of dislike the thought of showing up another group by having several Crossfires crash their party, I won't lose sleep over it. I mean, it's not our fault they (whomever they might be) chose something less cool than the Crossfire!

Let me see what I can come up with.

One thing I've learned from the navy is to never turn down an offering of food. Especially pizza.

Are these groups organized by cars? If so then crashing a 350Z or RX8 group meeting would be better than pizza.

Sorry didn't put my response in the previous reply... I would be interested in going. My boss has a 2006 Viper and my boyfriend has a 2003 Vette, I'm sure they would love to tag along if we need more people to join. Also, where exactly in SoCal would this be?

I'm up for it. Let me know when. I like glazed old fashion and black coffee with a splash of JD.

Update.

Meguiar's Saturday Clinics are booked through the end of 2007, so we can't have our own day. I'm checking to see which sessions may be booked by clubs with very limited membership so we can basically just crash their party (so to speak). I should know more in a few days.

blond xo, the clinics are held at Meguiar's HQ in Irvine, CA near the 405 & 55 freeways (other side of the 405 from John Wayne Airport).

I'm still working on it guys. Today is the first time I've been able to log into this forum since 9/15 for some odd reason - I just couldn't log in and actually see the threads!!! I'll keep you posted since I'm trying to convince Meguiar's to add a date to their schedule before the end of the year and maybe share that date between Crossfires and another group.

It looks as though we may be able to get Saturday, December 8th set for us. We'd most likely have to share with another group since we'd be a smallish class, but I don't think that's a problem. Except for the other group, of course, since they'd all be jealous of our Crossfires. But that's their problem, isn't it?

I'll keep you posted.

OK, sorry for the waffling back and forth here, but I spoke with my contact at Meguiar's and he's suggesting (and I'm inclined to agree with him) that we hold off until after the first of the year. Reason being Meguiar's has some new products coming out that were introduced at SEMA and he says we can get these in our goody bags, but only if we wait until after the first of the year. I'd prefer doing it this way even though it does mean waiting a bit longer.

Again, I'll keep you posted on the earliest date I can lock down for us.

Thumbs up Re: Any interest in Meguiar's Detailing Clinic in SoCal?

I would like to attend. After the first of the year is really better for me anyway. How do we go about signing up? Will you PM those interested in going, when you have a date? Or what?

Keep your eyes on this thread for final date and time. I think to make the ealiest possible date we may just jump in on an open forum session in January. I doubt we'd have more than 8-10 Crossfires show up so this would work just fine.

You would have to sign up at Meguiarsonline.com and then just respond to the sign up thread. No cost or obligation to sign up to their forum or attend the session. I'll post a link to the sign up thread once it's posted over at MOL.
