30 jars of wax or a SRT-6 ?!?!?!
Somehow I get every automotive oriented mailer/catalog known to man. Normally I just flip through the pages quickly and toss 'em out. The few exceptions are the Griot's Garage catalog, and the California Car Cover Co. catalog, Summit, and Jeg's.

Today I'm flipping through the new California Car Cover catalog looking at all the overpriced stuff when something caught my eye.
I was looking at page 37, all the Zymol products, when I saw this....

$647.50 for 8 oz. of wax???
For that much money I better get a little something at night, breakfast in the morning, and my car better be guaranteed safe from asteroid strikes!!!!
Maybe FP can work on getting us a discount!

WTF...almond, coconut, banana and sunflower oils? Sounds like a lady's body lotion. Either that or a dessert topping.
Maybe they'll offer a group buy discount.

That's funny. I was looking at the same add the other day. I too always look through the Griots and California Car Cover. I thought it would be nice to think money is no object and buy a can of this stuff. I have used the regular Zymol and love it but it does not last long. I switched to Next Generation 2.0.

Here try Swissvax's Crystal rock - not that 51% stuff, it is 76%.
So it is $1,100 a can (small can). Large is somewhere in the $18,000 range.
Check out this guy, he gets 10K for a detail. http://www.miracledetail.co.uk/

Amazon still carries the Zymol Vintage Estate Wax for $2,184.00 for 22oz but apparently the stopped carrying the $9,000 version of the Zymol Estate Wax. It should be noted that these products come with free refills for life. If that matters to most of you.
Many of these old Zymol products (not to be confused with the Zymol products found at WalMart by the way) were supposedly developed for specific cars back in the day, like the Bugatti Royale, etc. The suggested application method is by hand - literally. No applicator pad, just soften it up with the wamth of your hands and rub it onto the paint, using your warm skin as an applicator.
I have personally seen a comparison, on a perfectly prepared non metallic black panel, of a $2,500/8oz wax against Meguiar's M26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax that sells for $12.50/16oz and simply could not tell them apart. You'd think the product that cost 384 times as much would look different ... somehow.
As far as overall protection goes, consider that anything capable of etching paint (bird droppings, acid rain, eggs, etc) is not going to be stopped by a liquid or paste that you wipe onto the paint and then remove so as to leave just a microscopically thin layer behind. That is NOT what a wax or sealant is designed to do.

Sorry in advance to anyone I may offend with this statement...$647.00 wax is meant solely for people with more money than brains.
