Default Porter-Cable Polisher 7424 Parts list and Instructions

I am going to buy a Porter-Cable 7424 Polisher and came across this site.

There is an exploded polisher with part numbers, prices and some instructions on repairs. You can also find similar details for the variations of this unit.

I thought it might be of use to those with older units that have some wear or damage.

The adds say its made in the US, let's hope so.

No reason to rebuild, since some of the parts are greater that 50% of a new 7424. Purchased mine in 2006 for $106.00 and its operating just fine, even though its used on a weekly basis.....

Yeah, I saw the scary prices of some parts, rebuilding a polisher at these prices could end up like making a new car from parts purchased over the dealers counter.
If nothing else at least you can see whats inside and what makes it work, that's always a good thing.
My polisher was made in Mexico, the accessories in Taiwan and the US. Not in China ..... yet. At least its NAFTA for the moment.
Personally I think it would be better with a handle like the Meguiars and I think I might make one and try it, as I always say, 'how hard can it be?'
