Absolutely!!!! I use it on all of the glass. You'd be surprised at what gets picked up.

You can clay any surface that is hard and glossy - paint, glass, headlights, tail lights, glossy plastic trim, etc. You just want to stay off anything with a matte or textured finish like the black plastic cowl at the base of the windshield, textured black plastic side mirrors and stuff like that.

Generally a quick detail spray is the best choice as a clay lube and a bottle is included in both the Mother's and Meguiar's consumer detailing kits. A few drops of car wash soap in a spray bottle of plain water can work too, but some clays don't like the soap and will break down fairly quickly when used this way. Plus, using soapy water generally means you need to rewash the car after claying it, something you don't need to do when using a quick detail spray as the lube.

Is it safe to use "any" kid of clay on the windshield - or is there a specific type to use?

Is your windshield actually tinted on the outside? That sounds a bit odd to me..... can you be more specific about this windshield tint?

Yep. I've used our consumer clay, pro mild and pro aggressive clay as needed and never had a problem.

That's what we in the business call "marketing". Clay is designed to do one thing and one thing only - remove above surface bonded contaminants from a smooth, hard surface. If it will take it off of paint it will take it off of glass. Who makes this "glass clay"?

Handy info here as I was wondering what to use on my truck's window glass. When it came back from the body shop after a partial repaint the windows just won't come clean. I think it is primer dust or something like that. Thanks for this timely, for me, information!

Just did my first claying the other day, after watching a video I found of Mike on youtube. Did all the hard surfaces as described and came out with remarkable differences than before claying. Definitely keeping the clay in the exterior care products!

I bought the Maguiers Clay kit from Wally World for 15 bucks. Worked like a charm. Used it on my pickup as my CF did not need it. Get the Meguires kit. It gives you a bonus small bottle of the Ultimate spray wax. Great stuff. It does not leave that crappy white residue on black trim from overspray. As a matter of fact I sprayed it directly on the trim that the back of the top sets on and looks great.

How am I doing Mike? LOL.

You're hired!

Actually, I use the Ultimate Quik Wax on that tape strip on the tonneau too.

Yes, Ultimate Quick Wax is what I meant to say. Black bottle with yellow car on label. Great stuff boys & girls. Give in a shot, you won't be sorry. Tell em Tired sent ya.

Thanx for the job offer Mike, but I be loving retirement too much. LOL.

I would suggest leaving the clay bar off of that strip on the tonneau, however.

Had the same problem once with my '89 Ford Probe after a body repair.
Solution : clean the windows with lacquer thinner, then clay bar.
