carwash ?
carwash ?
I know most would consider taking your crossfire to a car wash unthinkable.However- living in the northeast with snow, salt, etc ,I was wondering if those big tires would cause a problem getting thru a car wash.Is there anyone willing to admit that they submitted there car to this abuse without a problem. Thanks
Re: carwash ?
Living in the West with chemical deicer on the highway...it is imperative to wash it off and I regularly use a carwash through the Winter. No wheel scratches or tire scuffs and no stuck Xfire. Most of the newer washes belong to an association that prescribes how wide the tracks should be to accommodate virtually any vehicle. If in doubt, check with the wash manager. The wash I use will accommodate a HUMMER, which seems to be the largest/widest vehicle that is considered passable through a tunnel type wash. Good luck.

Search around and see if theres a hand wash place near you. Here in NJ right outside NYC there are numerous hand washes, in fact, more than the automated ones!
If you have to go to an automated one, the only thing I'd check for is to see if the cover the left side of the track with plastic. If its just bare metal, it could very well scratch your rims, as older tracks were made before cars started coming with super low profile tires. The new ones have a colored plastic over the edge.
