Question dirt issue

To all you detailers,

Seems everytime I wash, then wax using NXT, after some time the car has some sort of grit sticking to the paint. Feels like sandpaper all over the car... I can get a damp rag and when it gets wet, it comes right off. At first we thought it was from parking near a tree and it was pollen. This has happened more than three different times than I can remember noticing. Can't see the grit only feel it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

i would clay the entire car and re-wax... see if this helps by cleansing the surface to remove all contaminants.

~ do you live in an area that uses salt for the roads during winter months? if so... it would be residue.

Any body use spray paint around your car? If so that could be it. Like Andrew said, a good clay baring should take care of what you are describing. Just looking at your post about a wet rag taking it off it could be tree pollen or something in the rain in your area. Watch where you park. If you don't have a carport or garage you might want to invest in a car cover.
